Honestly, I don't see what's so bad about it as long as people can actually have fun with the topic/thread.
It'd be the same as if somebody made a new thread on the same thing, except that there are already replies present.

The exception would be if it was a giveaway/event or something that can't possibly be resurrected and needs to stay dead.
