Alrighty, folks. Bear with me, since this is the first time I've hosted a "forum Mafia" sorta game here before.

The Puzzlemaster has spent many long hours in his mansion, toiling away at Puzzle-Bot and its various features and attachments. At last, he backs away, proud of his creation. "Finally," he cries, "I've done it! Puzzle-bot's time mechanism is working properly! At least, I think it is. Not sure. I'll have to perform one final test before I'm certain whether it'll work as planned or whether it'll accidentally screw up the timeline, or even possibly reality. But, I mean, what kinda moron would be stupid enough to fall for that one after my track record?"
After a few moments of thought, he rushes to the phone and begins making several calls.

The rules for Secret Hitler are located here:
http://secrethitler.com/assets/Secret_Hitler_Rules.pdf
I'll be following these as much to the letter as possible, and using Tabletop Simulator to keep track of the game on my own end. I can potentially take screenshots to share as handy visuals, if needed.

We're gonna need at least 5 players to play, and the max that can enter is 10. I'd also like it if I can get an assistant I can work with since there's a lot of regular stuff I ain't savvy to that I'd just be copying off previous games for.

Players (for those of you who like getting orders barked at you in bad German accents):
1. The Greek
2. Boss Kusu
3. Mr. Scene
4. Basil the Lifter
5. Bishop Bling
6. Captain Dedo
7. General Warehall
8. The Count of Monte Cristigale
9. Big Brass
10. Chief Blotunga

Observers (for those of you who enjoy lurking in the background and judging silently):
1. B.J. the Scribbler
2. Hunter the Hunter
3. The Doc
Sub-observer (for those of you who enjoy lurking in the background behind the background):
1. bler144
Sub-sub observer (for those of you who are in so deep that you have no idea where you are anymore):
1. HypersomniacLive

Assistants (for those of you who enjoy secretly bossing Zeogold around while he thinks he's bossing you around):
1. Alphonse "The Bookworm" Wyrm (if nobody else volunteers as assistant)

Subs (for those of you who hate dubs and hoagies)
1.

I'm in I'm in:D First participation in a forum mafia game. The previous ones seemed complicated and I was hesitant to participate but this one is easier. Liberal or fascist, let's kick some chancellor butt!

The rules say that the revealing of ballots for policies must be simultaneous. How will we handle this? Are we going to send pms and then zeo will post the results?
Count me in. I haven't read the rule so I hope it isn't too complicated. But it's been a while and I would love to be in a community game again
Interesting. Observer here ... mostly because I don't want to be in the scuffle of all those wanting to secretly boss zeogold around. :p

Tauto: Why,Hitler? Couldn't you come up with a better title/name? If I put that name up it would be reported in two seconds. This is blatant trolling at it's worst by zeogold the self proclaimed puzzle mutt.
This is not an appropriate thread and should be deleted.
Maybe because the actual NAME OF THE GAME is called "Secret Hitler", a quite popular and in fact very G/PG-rated board game sold on the shelves of many a store.
Come, now, Tauto. You used to have form! Technique! But alas, in your aging years, it seems you've grown sloppy, desperately grabbing at whatever straws present themselves to you. My heart takes pity.

Precisely. Just like in the real game, people can say they're going to vote and talk whatever smack they want, but it'll be up in the air until the actual yea/nay reveal.

Sounds pretty interesting but I've got couple of questions -
a) How much of a time commitment is required? (at least one post every 24 hours, or some such)
b) How long would the game go on?

I'm free for a week but would be swamped after that.

a. Good question. This is part of the reason I want an assistant to help me with stuff, I don't really know what's "normal" for you guys. I don't want to impose something unreasonable.
b. Considering the normal length of games around here, it'll probably take longer than a week or two is my guess.
After skim reading this it sounds a cool game, especially because I have a fascination for the history. But I'm not clear on how do you play it and how often do you need to be online to not hold up a game? If it's all in the pdf feel free to tell me to re-read it and all.
In. Place #5 please.

History? Wait, you mean, like, actual, factual historical information about pre-WWII Germany? Because if you're looking for that, this ain't it. This ain't it at all. ESPECIALLY with the way I'm about to spin it. I mean, have you seen the names popping up on the list so far? And the fact I said in the general mafia thread that I'm about to be as offensive to Germans as possible? And the cows? I mean, you DO like cows...right? Right?

So far as how to play it, the rules are laid out in the PDF. Actions such as voting and drawing cards will be done via PM (i.e. you send me your "yea" or "nay" vote, or, if you're the elected president, I send you the 3 cards you drew). In terms of how often you need to be online, that's a good question. To be honest with you, I'm not really sure. I would think the game would move fairly quickly, but I'm used to playing it in real life. Having it be on a forum slows it down substantially, not to mention the fact that the regular Mafia players seem to be fond of debating stuff for days on end. The idea in my head is to put it to some sort of activity once per 2-3 days, but I don't know how fair this is, which is stuff I'd be asking my assistant.

No, he meant your personal history (as a forum game host)

That would certainly explain the game title.
Jawohl! I volunteer for this game. Sign me up!

But you can't deny that the game you chose IS rather provocative.

Oh, guess I'll take the observer spot then. Thanks!
