The original pales in comparison to this remake. Probably the best thing they have done in the Resident Evil series.

Sorry man but american cheese factor is just stupid I just cannot take it seriously. Yeah its funny, but how long until the jokes wear thin? The REmake is just perfect.

Also I get to play this on modern hardware in HD. My Wii version has this Full-Screen look.

What American cheese factor? Resident Evil has always been a Japanese game! Personally, I have never thought of Resident Evil as a serious series.

Probably Capcom will release the "original" trilogy at one point too, with Code Veronica.
Also, an interesting fact: there are new subs in Steam for RE5. Maybe they are updating this by removing GFWL, or maybe they are both removing GFWL and patching the game with DLCs.

The million dollar question is, will they screw up the portjob? After all, PS4 and Xbone are higher priority.

REmake, Zero, and Outbreak was the best Resident Evils in terms of Scary Graphics and Enviornmets, and General FEAR inducing.

Last time I played the classic RE1 was on the Sega Saturn and PS more nearly 2 decades back. Genuinely scared by it and I took more than 2 months to complete it because I can't play too much in one sitting. Not my first survival horror though, that will go to the original Alone in the Dark.

Good to see this the remastered version come to PC. Maybe I'll relive my memories of getting torn apart by the Cerberus at the bloody corridor.

Hell yeah, great news! And they actually seem to have put THOUGHT into this. The fact that they actually explained that the incompatible aspect ratios will be solved by introducing scrolling is a great sign, that they actually have some sort of plan (not like in case of the Silent Hill HD remakes where the new aspect ratio just ruined more than one cutscene).

I hope they remaster the controls as well.

Doubt it. Tank Controls for the Hardcore fans like me. Unless of course they give the option to change between.

Spiderweb games does that. And while the end results get less and less flexible, the games are no less good for it. Exile to Avernum to Avernum: Escape form the Pit, for example.

Personally, RE1 is one of the ones I like the least, RE2 remake? Sure, why not, will keep an eye on RE1 but unless the tone is radically different (and it allows you to do things such as suplexing everything (which it won't, since that started on RE4) I will enjoy it) I don't think I will be very interested on it.
