there was this guy and he wrote about GZDoom - i wanted to ask him about it but he edited his post so my reply got edited as well! something's wrong with the forum yes? so what's the big difference between zdoom final version and gzdoom?

Never heard of firejail. I suppose I should look into it. It probably does the same thing I do, but without requiring me to maintain it. I set up a network namespace containing only looopback at system startup, and use a suid stripped down iproute2 that just switches to that namespace and executes its arguments. My game wrapper script and my wine wrapper script both use this, and I only allow winetricks to bypass it (and, because I am not as paranoid as I should be, I also allow Zachtronics games to occasionally connect, so I can see how my solutions fare against the rest of the world). Of course apps can still bypass it by executing the web browser while I already have one up (not a significant enough hole for me to patch it, yet).

edit: Also, I cheat too much to want to play network multi-player (given that even loading a prior save is technically cheating, unless you're doing it to bypass game bugs). And the sort of games I might want to play multi-player usually have PBEM modes.

I've never considered this to be cheating.

If anything, if a game actively prevents the player from doing this, I consider it to be a black mark on the game, and I am significantly less likely to want to play it.

Where in my comments did I say anything about gog what they can and cannot do? As Poppyappletree stated something early similar to what your implying I've agreed with him and your statement. If gog wants to block lock or remove these post that's fine by me. If they want to let it go on that is also fine by me. I've never said anything about gog. I'm talking about people in general.

Well I didn't know.. so I gambled and lost on a 50/50 chance. But on the net anyone can be anything. Also I try not to get involved much with these politically correct discussions... Sorry.
