Today, we bid farewell to the legendary post-apocalyptic 2D classics.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we needed to pull the three classic Fallout games, that is Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics, from sale and remove them from our DRM-free catalog. These classic titles have been with us since day one, that is for over 5 years now, and they were always one of the highlights of the selection of games that we offer. There are very few titles in the history of computer role-playing games, that have had so much impact on the gaming landscape, players' expectations, and even the popular culture. The iconic setting, the memorable quotes, and unparalleled amount of fun and challenge these games provide--it's all burned in the memory of a whole generation of gamers. Probably even more than just one generation. It was an honor to have you here, Fallout. Take good care of yourself out there, try not to mistake a gecko for G.E.C.K. (not even remotely the same thing!), and remember to take your Rad-X pills!

All those who acquired Fallout, Fallout 2, or Fallout Tactics on GOG.com prior to the date of removal (that is before Tuesday, December 31st 2013, at 3:59PM GMT), will still be able to download the games' install files (as well as the bonus content) via the "My Games" section of their user accounts. Gift-codes for these three games acquired in our recent giveaway are no longer valid. However, if you own a gift-code for any or all of them that was purchased outside of the said giveaway, you'll still be able to redeem it in the foreseeable future.

We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience this situation may have caused you. We invite you to browse through 671 other fantastic titles offered in our DRM-free catalog of the best games in history, and we wish you a Happy New Year of gaming!

Paltuscine: What are you talking about? I have Win 7 64 Ultimate and the game works fine. Also, you did realize there was a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE? You know, to get a refund if it didn't work?
Edit: "I" instead of "i"
Don't feed the little troll...
This is sad.
The only way I could properly run Fallout 1 or 2 was the gog version.
I bought them on steam but after modding to hell and back they had glitches that made the game unplayable.
It's sad to see these great games leave my favorite digital distribution service.
A sad day for the site, I will be trying to avoid buying any more Bethesda games until these titles are brought back to GOG.
Interesting, Pete Hines of Bethesda tweeted this, in regards to the fact that Steam is still selling the game:
"I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be available anywhere. Things w/ game have to be fixed when there's a change of publisher."
This is certainly interesting news: https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/418411348851040256

Does that mean that Steam is selling the Fallout games without Beth's expressed consent? I know, this is Steam we're talking about, they can get away with murder, but still...

Yep, totally legit and trustworthy post. Would read again.

On a more serious note, you could actually try contacting support over this. I tried the original Fallout, and it works just fine on my end (Windows 7 64).
Yeah, I noticed the joined date too. Good catch. Obviously some troll. Not sure how you can join after the game is made unavailable and complain about it not working.

I've had them for a while, curious about them as I missed when they first came out and, like most of my games, I just haven't gotten around to trying. But on the off chance GOG has to remove them from my shelves at some point I went ahead and downloaded everything from all 3 games yesterday so that I wouldn't lose them. Something I need to do to most of my games. :-\
De-listing games is the greatest shame of the digital marketplace. There really shouldn't be any need for it.

I understand that with a change of publisher comes a need to re-negotiate contracts etc... but publishers should be held to honour the previous publishers agreements until such re-negotiating can be done.

The customers should come first. That won't happen though sadly.

Because of the Jews.

BillyMaysFan59: I've seen more idiots like this. One guy did a review for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 long ago, and was it to talk about the game? Nope. It was to complain about the GOG downloader application not working.
Don't even get me started with some of the reviews that I read around here. Most of the games are rated too high, for one thing. You need to automatically deduct at least 1 star whenever you look at a rating, that's if you even take that into account, which if you do, hopefully it's not the deciding factor.

Overrating is not as bad as the stupid stuff that some people post, though.

"I haven't played this yet, but it looks great" 5 stars
"GOG hasn't provided a Linux version" 1 star

The list goes on. A game rating here doesn't mean squat, but I guess you could say the same thing just about wherever you go.

People here were rating The Witcher II with 5 stars before the game was even released...
Quick question. Where do I find that picture of the skeleton in the vault outfit?
