How "accessible" is Machiavelli the Prince? Is there some in-game tutorial?

I didn't play it earlier and I'm not a big fan of those merchant/economic games, but I must admit, that this game looks very interesting.
Was yet again hoping for Dungeon Master. But alas.
If Battle Engine Aquila isn't a micro-blast from the past, I don't know what is. Micro, because I played the demo for maybe 3 minutes and forgot about it. But any giant mech game is going to stick in my mind somehow, and I love the chance to rediscover this one.

Some interesting releases, thanks GOG and Ziggurat! But sadly not even all the DOS(box) games come with official Linux support.

Just found a manual online and it shows there being a tutorial.

fronzelneekburm: Interesting. What's so terrible about them? I never heard of them before and just going by the screenshots they seem like PG-13ish Leisure Suit Larry clones.

ciemnogrodzianin: Remember that gameplay-wise Larry series is often also terrible. A lot of old games are terrible and that's even what makes some of them so special. So don't be scared by low ratings — these Les Manley games looks like fun. I haven't idea Larry is not the only one :D
Nah, they are just bad games and not in a charming way. The first one has a terrible parser, loads of dead ends, bad puzzle design, you know all the stable elements of a badly designed adventure game. The second is just forgettable and boring. I recall trying it and discarding it quick thereafter.

For a moment I thought you were writing about Codename Iceman :D

I think the same applies :D
Those Les Manley games seem to be a special kind of "classic":

I'm happy mainly for the release of Battle Engine Aquila, a game that I've had on my radar for quite a while, even though I don't know if it's really good or not. Certainly it looks very interesting to me.
If it is accurate on a past twitter Ziggurat Interactive said they were going to launch new titles on Steam the first friday each month. Does it mean we will se more retrogames on GOG monthly?
Nothing wrong with a bit of a "sleazy, misogynistic, insulting and stupid" (according to Corbett, at least) palate cleanser once in while.
It's really not that hard to just accept these kinds of games for what they are - a product of their time.

Gameplay also seems to be terrible though, and reviews even at the time of their release seem to have been rather negative. tbh I have difficulty imagining why anyone would want to play those titles today.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.
And I'd bet there are just as many connoisseurs of "trash" games as there are for "trash" movies or "trash" music, for instance.
Purchased Machiavelli: The Prince, Phantom, Timequest, and the Les Manley bundle. Hope to see Altered Destiny, The Train, The Great Escape soon.
