Another great graphic adventure from point-and-click masters at Sierra.

Pick up this game for adventure fans of all ages, here on GOG.com for $5.99!

Even though Torin’s Passage was created by a Al Lowe, famous for King’s Quest III (available on GOG.com), Police Quest (available on GOG.com), and Leisure Suit Larry (available on GOG.com--no, just kidding.), is not an adult-oriented adventure, but a game for kids and the young at heart. This adventure game features young Torin, the son of a farming family who embarks on a quest to save his parents and defeat the evil sorceress Lycentia. What he does not know is that in actuality SOMETHING SOMETHING SPOILER SPOILER. We’re not telling you anything else, because that would ruin the story. So buy Torin’s Passage, a classic point-and-click form the people who know a lot about pointing and clicking for fun, available now on GOG.com only for $5.99.

Crystals columns, princes and princesses, an evil sorceress and her intrigues, and a shape-shifting sidekick--it’s not a unique story, but still an intriguing one. Filled with fast-moving animated action full of comical twists and surprises, lovable and outrageous characters, five unique worlds within worlds, and a heart-warming ending, this game may have been made for young adults but just like some of your favorite books, it may have been made for younger audiences, but anyone will enjoy playing it. With great puzzles that (for example) utilize the shape-shifting Boogle (if he’s in the right mood), a Disney-like story, and simple but not simplistic gameplay, Torin’s Passage is yet another fantastic creation from Sierra, and you need to get it now on GOG.com for only $5.99!

Skystrider: Edit:
Oh, also, it is one of the more forgiving Sierra adventures in that there are no dead ends or death scenes. That's a very good thing in my opinion.
Really? I remember there being a shedload of death/lose scenes. However like LSL6 you just get taken back the point before you made your mistake.
Torin's passage. Hmm. Nice story, irritating companion and voice overs. The humour did not agree with me that much, probably because it's an extremely American kind of humour. Drumrolls whenever you are supposed to laugh? Come on. I own this on CDROM, but it won't install because of a installation check that is naturally baffled by the space available on modern Hard Disks. Might pick this up when this goes on sale, just to be able to replay a game I already own legally.
The puzzles can be challenging, especially the musical Simon Says-type puzzles.
Please Gog, could you get Vivendi to release Rama next? The limited viewport was a bit ow a letdown on that one, but the story...ah, the story is Goood. The puzzles in Rama are intelligence-test type logical coherence and math puzzles. I really enjoyed those.
Now if you want a Sierra game where the death scenes are disturbing, get Urban Runner.
@grviper: love your avatar description. I adore cats.

My mistake. What I meant to say was that its more forgiving about death than most other Sierra adventures. Sorry about that.
didn't they release this as freeware not too long ago?
Neat game, I originally got the German version from the old "magazine" Best of Sierra. Surprisingly I've enjoyed this game more than any entry from one of the major Sierra franchises such as King's and Space Quest. Neat story and lovable characters. Only thing I don't know if I'd still enjoy the humour. Now if GOG could only release the Leisure Suit Larry games...

No Rama without Lighthouse! :)

And a good fix of Mission Critical.

This. I'm hopeful we'll see it, but it sounds like another one of those licensing nightmares. I think Activision owns the games themselves, but Codemasters owns the IP rights, or something like that. And then, well, how does Replay Games fit into the equation, and are they going to throw a fit if GOG releases these games before they can put out their remake?

I may be wrong, but I read Codemasters bought rights to Larry.

But do they actually own the Al Lowe-made original games, or just the garbage one they made? Either way, it's still probably a nightmare to license. Same logic applies to why we'll probably never see Sam & Max: Hit the Road again.

I wasn't sure about other Al Lowe games, but since they released Torrin's Pasage, I hope we'll get Freddy Pharkas too.

Anyway, it looks like it's only Larry series, that are out of reach atm. Not sure why, though, because Codemasters are here.

Sam & Max is a different story, because it's LucasArts. And when GOG sign them, I'm sure it will be available here.

lugum: and Leisure Suit Larry (available on GOG.com--no, just kidding)

Bad joke.

Cool release though , might give hope for more Sierra games.
Yup, totally bad joke. My first graphic adventure series as a wee one, haha (I know, I know). Awesome games though.
Since it seems no one noticed the last post I made I ask once more: I will happily pay back any kind benefactor here a 10 dollar GOG on the 1st of next month if they buy this for me right now.

(If anyone here has any doubts several here have done this for me in the past and will vouch for my trustworthyness.)

Seriously? I chuckled. Few companies can poke fun in their press releases about their shortcomings.
