A virtual table-top realm opens!

If you were taking part in the beta-test program for this title, you get a special (non-stackable) 40% off discount, valid until December 27.

SPECIAL CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT!

In The Witcher Adventure Game, you race against your opponents to gather the most victory points and work together to complete quest objectives. We think it would be fun to find out whom you would like to see in the game (and reward you for it!) - which brings us to the object of this character creation contest.

Pick a character from the Witcher universe, describe their role in The Witcher Adventure Game along with a special ability they can use and 2 skills they can choose to master. Then, post your entry in the forum thread for this news post, making sure it’s only up to 100 words long.

In the game itself, you can take on the role of one of four characters from the Witcher universe - so make sure you don’t double up on the ones that already exist in-game!

-- Geralt of Rivia, the monster slayer - single-handedly eliminate your opponents with the help of powerful potions or witcher signs.

-- Triss Merigold, the cunning sorceress - you can protect yourself with magical skills and cast spells in battle on your opponents.

-- Yarpen Zirgin, the dwarven warrior - call on the help of your fellowship of dwarves to aid him in battle.

-- Dandelion, the rogue bard - become a cunning diplomat and talk your way out of conflicts, bribe your opponents with gold or threaten to call on more powerful friends.

We’ll choose three best entries that will be rewarded with a physical copy of The Witcher Adventure Game from GOG! (Disclaimer: we can't promise that the winning concepts will ever appear in-game.)

More details on the rules:
-- English-only entries, please!
-- The contest entry deadline is in one week - 11.59 PM GMT, December 4th
-- We’ll announce the winners two weeks after that (on December 17th) in the first post of this thread, with links to their submissions, and through a private message to the three winners
-- One post per person! Otherwise, none will be counted
-- Similarly, one prize per person, of course ;)

Have fun, and good luck!

I treid the bet a couple of times, but I couldn't get that much into it. I never felt like I was playing with someone and the game just is a bit boring. But I'd be willing to bet it's much more interesting as an actual physical board game. This is the kind of a game that really needs real people in a same room.

Impaler26: Why does this game have regional pricing? And why is no maual included?

Anyway, as i won't buy regional priced games i'll pass.
Given that this game is from CD Project Red I'm really disappointed to see regional pricing here. I don't really give a crap about regional pricing, but given that GOG used to defend regionless pricing, it kinda disturbing that they break with it themselves. In any case, I'm not buying this game. I'd rather have the gameboard as a PDF extra for Witcher 3 haha.

GOG.com: ... December 4rd

Ofcoslava: Just a little nitpick since I was especially interested in the deadline for this contest - it's probably the 4th (or was it the 3rd after all)?
Oh, sorry about that one! The contest is on until the 4th, as you assumed - the post is now edited. Thanks! :)

RPGOracle: Given European regulations for game pricing, it's the closest they can come to giving you back the extra money you spend on the game. Legally they're just not allowed to give you a discount on these games straight away.
Under the current regulations, what better option would a retailer such as GOG have to give you back the extra money?

Pheace: Not have the regional price to begin with. Basically, the moment they started allowing it, they gave in to regional pricing. They're allowing publishers to get away with it, regardless that they're placating their own customers with the fair price package. And this was one of the last places to really take a stand against it.

I think that's where most the complaints come from.

That and the complaints that regional pricing was supposedly for the customers benefit and was going to bring in big games they otherwise wouldn't have been able to, yet there haven't been any, it's mostly indie titles, and now, even their own game, one which has no excuse (like a retail licensing deal) for the regional pricing (mostly summarized from the regional pricing thread on here)
Regional pricing did bring in several larger games. Games like Age of Wonders 3, Divinity: Original Sin, and probably quite a few others, wouldn't have been here if GOG had refused regional pricing completely.
And unfortunately, even a European company like CD Projekt themselves, are forced to apply regional pricing to their games... as they still want to be able to sell the Witcher games in European stores as well.

So yeah, you're free to dislike regiona pricing and to not buy any game that has regional pricing. Me, I'm glad that those games are here, and that GOG is willing to pay the difference (Fair Price Package) out of their own pockets.

Woot? You are new here. Can we get a little introduction?
Waiting for the fix ...
At the end of the trailer, there's an icon "Get in on Google Play", so Adventure Game is going to be available on android too? I can't find it yet on Google Play.

Yeah, I am relatively new! I’m the one that talks to you on Facebook and Twitter (and occasionally speaks up on Twitch) :)

DoctorGOGgles: Ok, but can you install the game without also installing the "optional" Galaxy client, because you can't with AvP and that should be fixed ASAP as well!

JudasIscariot: Like I said, we're working on these issues and we should have them resolved ASAP.
My ubersuper pro tip: if you want to test a launcher - do it for SotS: The Pit :D That autoupdate feature of launcher will be more than welcome :D

So could I confirm, there will be an updated version posted at some point, which has the options to not install Galaxy, and has the login part removed?
I have this from pre-order and haven't downloaded it yet, but if there is login needed, or it installs galaxy without option then I would be asking for a refund, as per the AvP discussion (although fortunately I hadn't purchased that one).

I might be missing something here, so could you please elaborate on which European regulations dictate regional pricing and more so the $1:1€ kind?
