Pack of War

War comes to GOG.com, neatly bundled in a pack... of war. That's Faces of War, Men of War: Red Tide, Men of War: Assault Squad, and Men of War: Vietnam - all yours in the Bundle Tower Pack of War for 75% off, or individually at -60%.

The Men of War games are a series of simulation-driven real time strategy titles. The games' success is shared by the bond that they foster between you and the men at your command, as well as the revolutionary, detailed simulation of every aspect of the battlefield - including accurate line of sight, physics based tactical destruction & debris, or granular vehicle damage - all of which come together to form one of the most organic strategy experiences available anywhere.

Faces of War is an earlier title in the series, released prior to the massive success of Men of War, but shares many of the same unique design choices. Those same ruthless strategy experiences can be found in the remaining three titles: Men of War: Assault Squad, the Men of War expansion; and their two sequels - Men of War: Red Tide and Men of War: Vietnam , in which you will stand by a squad of Soviet Black Coats, and battle-hardened US special operatives, in their fight to survive.

There are two sides to every story in the Pack of War, available 75% off in the Bundle Tower, now DRM-free on GOG.com.

This post is very useful, +1 : )
Must remember about Assault Squad 2, now!

IronArcturus: Did the original Assault Squad have any way of creating custom singleplayer battles? From what I've read, there wasn't a listed Skirmish mode in the game.
They included an editor (mow_assault_squad_ed.exe)

You should be able to make all sorts with that once you master it.

There's five nations included in the game - and a bunch of player vs AI skirmish missions.

No campaign to speak of. There are mods though!

I believe all the content found in Assault Squad was brought over to the sequel.

These two mods for Assault Squad 2 look well worth a try! (but legally grey =P)
Red Tide for AS2
Faces of War for AS2

....Shame nobody ported the SHOWW2 missions ='(

Thanks for the info!
Can't remember specifics but after reading reviews I chose not to buy Men of War: Vietnam and condemned heroes on steam when I bought the other games there a while back. Condemned heroes (not here) is probably the weakest apparently then maybe Vietnam. Vietnam still gets 68% on metacritic so still strong compared to many games.

That said I still ended up getting Men of War: Vietnam here along with the other games in the series GOG has so far.

can't speak of the merits of any of them since they are in my backlog yet to be played.

I skimmed the negative comments, a lot of complaint about the camera and mechanics just not working in the setting - too dense jungle and canopy just making it impossible to see. Men of War & Men of War: Red Tide do seem to be the best choices for single player, Assault Squad for multiplayer.

apehater: well, this isn't high on priority, but still not nice gog.

why did you had to you the us cover version of faces of war (with us soldier holding us flag) instead of the original with soviet soldier holding soviet flag? aren't you supposed to be political neutral as a shop?
Because 85%+ of the customers are westerners? 50%+ from US? Because that's the art puslisher send to them? Because that's the box one of the GOG employees had awailable? And if they were truly neural, shouldn't they have used the the box that has no flags?
