The Technomancer and Mars: War Logs are now available DRM-free. Get them up to 75% off until October 10th, 1pm UTC.

Mars: War Logs takes you to Mars, nearly a century after the cataclysm that threw the planet and its colonists into chaos. Water has become the most precious resource on the arid red planet, with a few companies fighting a perpetual war for its control.

The Technomancer is a sci-fi RPG set on Mars, featuring dynamic combat and an epic story line, where your choices will affect the fate of the Red Planet. You are a Technomancer, a formidable warrior harnessing destructive electrical powers. Embark on a perilous journey across a planet torn apart by conflict and infested with mutant creatures.

Sachys: Its the (semi?) sequel to Mars: War Logs.

(worth mentioning in case its not clear)
Oh, I thought it's the other way around (Mars: War Logs is the sequel to Technomancer?). Thanks for pointing it out. I see from the dates now, that Mars: War Logs is the first game.

its odd they're not listed as a series on the game pages
Very happy to see now both Mars War Logs and Technomancer here!
Instabought just as Bound by Flame, back then!

Now I wonder, is it possible to see Silverfall coming here? (it was available on DotEmu IIRC)

Is technomancer good? I only played Mars: War Logs and it was ok.

shmerl:
If I remember timeline wise Mars War Logs takes place mostly after Technomancer, but Technomancer expands a bit beyond the events of War Logs.

It was on DotEmu. I still have my copy of Silverfall and Silverfall Earth Awakening from there. Sorry to see that store is gone, but that's a positive point to DRM free. I still have my games.
Thanks FHI and GOG! I'm in.

Styx next, please.

Yes, I should have bought them before it was too late, but then I thought Spiders games wouldn't come on gog, so I was reluctant to start "Spiders ludography" (even "pre-Spiders though).
Now I believe it's time to eat my hat... ;-)

Both have achievements, and they have also been added to Bound By Flame, a commendable work by Spiders and Focus Home!
WOW more from the spiders collection are HERE! Insta-bought, thanks gog for bringing this over!

Although, the voice work is painfully shitty as they are console ports after all.

mintee: how on earth do they make such nice looking games for so cheap? gonna have to buy these and give them a go

kud13: Spiders' early games had fairly primitive level design. Of Orcs and Men had levels that were a bunch of corridors, while Mars: War Logs' cities were a bunch of corridors making up a rectangle of streets, with mandatory combat encounters in some "corners".

They got progressively better: "Bound by Flame" had levels that were approaching Witcher 1 complexity; but these are very much b-tier, low-budget RPGs that tried to emulate both CDPRed and Bioware.

I really like Spiders, and particularly the fact that they kept experimenting with different settings that aren't really your traditional LOTR/D&D or space opera knockoffs; but it's impossible to deny that their ambition often outstripped their budget.

What little I played of GreedFall so far is really impressive. I haven't had a chance to play Technomancer yet, so can't talk about it.
Bound by Flame came out before The Technomancer
Do you play that dude (tm) in both games or does Technomancer has actual character creation/customization?

OP-2019: Is Mars: War Logs gameplay-wise similar to Bound By Flame? If so, I will definitely buy it. And also seeing the hardware requirements, it seems, it will work on my computer.
Not really. Mars War Logs has more of a "floaty" last-gen hack-and-slash style. IMO it's fun but imprecise. But...

... Mars War Logs has a small -- but very solid -- story with some interesting characters. I loved it.

IMO Mars War Logs isn't as strong an RPG as The Technomancer (it's actually quite linear as I remember) but it has a more interesting story and characters (although The Technomancer has an ok story).

Personally, I think both of these games are worthwhile

(IMO Bound by Flame combat somewhat mirrors The Witcher 3... as does The Technomancer)

No, Mars War Logs is the story of another Technomancer in different city happening alongside the story of The Technomancer.

There is a character creator, but due to budget issues, only male types are available.

NP. Just FYI, Mars War Logs is quite linear. It plays more like a linear hack-n-slash as I remember.
