Where syndicates reign supreme...

Satellite Reign an open world, modern spiritual successor to Syndicate, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with full support for GOG Galaxy achievements and leaderboards! Blow past the corporate ladder at 20% off for the first week.

If you asked half the crew at GOG.com what their favorite game of all time is, a good chunk of us would say Syndicate. While the dirty cyberpunk settings and hard-as-nails gameplay did give us years and years of classic gaming to come back to, Satellite Reign may just be the breath of fresh, corporate espionage air that we've been waiting for.
Satellite Reign, from the very days of its conception, was a modern Syndicate in everything but the name. A gritty cyberpunk world ruled by malicious megacorps, and a squad of professionals prepared to take down the system. You'll get to roam around a huge and filthy, open-world city which isn't just cool, but also gives you a fantastic tactical freedom in how you tackle each mission - there is no one right way to achieve your ends. Between tons of high-tech goodness and customization, there is an ever-present Syndicate feel to the game with one unquestionable improvement - freedom, freedom is in the musty air.

For more Satellite Reign goodness, you can also pick up the Original Soundtrack, Art Book, and a prequel Novella!

Return to the Syndicate, in spirit, with Satellite Reign, available now - DRM-free on GOG.com The launch promo will last until Friday, September 4, 13:59 PM GMT.

JaqFrost: I'm really disappointed that 5 Lives decided not to offer kickstarter backers GOG keys. I suppose I expected them to be more like Larian, so shame on me.
GOG keys would have been nice, but I hold no grudges to Kickstarter projects as long as I still get my DRM free version. Humble works for that, and we get a Steam key for those that want it.
Extremely interesting game!
Even if I am not a backer, I kept an eye on this one -being a raving cyberpunk fan- and I can say the premises are very promising. It will surely join my library!

IAmSinistar: That cheeses me off when a KS project does that. Really sends the message that they consider you to be second-class.
There is nothing to be cheesed about. 5 Lives provided DRM free versions, just through another service.

samlii: What does get my goat is the way the gog key situation went down. The answer they gave was that they couldn't give gog keys because they had already given Steam keys. I've always wondered if they really lose that many sales because of extra keys given to backers? And if that isn't the issue, what is?
I got the impression that they can't understand why we'd want a GOG key when we can have a DRM-free version and a Steam key. I'm happy for the people who do want that, but personally, I don't want a Steam key and I'd be happy to give back my unused Humble key in exchange for a GOG one.

Every devs I have questioned about that told me the same things. Being it a kickstarter project or a product sold on a store, when it come out on GOG they rarely gives code for GOG like they do, for instance, with steam. That's due to the fact that GOG doesn't usually want to give keys for product not bought from them. They gives a worse deal than every other stores apparently.
Looks good. But fortunately my backlog is large enough... No need to rush a purchase.

PaterAlf: Looks good, but I don't like the way how they handle every piece of extra (soundtrack, novella, artbook) as an individual DLC. How about creating one big Deluxe upgrade, so we don't have to do four transactions just to get everything?
Yeah, the DLC is really getting ridiculous. Who is going to pay extra for just an artbook?
Damn what a gorgeous game! Think I'll first try to finish Syndicate Wars tho : never could get past that blasted space station level :P

Matewis: Damn what a gorgeous game!
I know it looks amazing doesn't it? Love the mix of neon and dystopian future gloom / haze(TM).
Can I get some shiny new horse armour with my purchase?
I'm a backer, thrilled it is finally here... but alas - no time to play at the moment... :(

Tannath: Wow, selling the extras one by one. We already had Champion/Hero editions and DLC with a bundle of extras, but extras being sold like this is a first in GOG AFAIK. Lameeeeeee...

samlii: I'm OK with this model rather than the Hero/Champion/Whatever editions. Also as a backer I understand why they would feel like they would cheat us if they gave them away.
Having DLC is not the problem. Either sell the extras together with the game and ask for a bit more or sell just the game cheaper and offer a DLC with all the extras (like an upgrade). Selling them like this, one little bit at a time and overpriced, is a shameless cash grab. That's what I dislike.

EDIT: And I agree, having Hero/Champion/Whatever editions is even worse.

This is why I will not back a game unless they can guarentee a GoG key right off the bat (or a refund if they can't get the game on GoG).

Especially since as far as I can tell there is no way to upgrade those editions to their next tier.

Exactly.
