Despicable me.

Overlord II is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, 75% off until July 23th, 1pm UTC. Grab the original Overlord at 75% off, as well.
Ahh, it's good to be back! But that's the only "good" you'll be doing in this game. The rest mostly amounts to murdering, plundering, terrorizing, seducing, and demolishing. Conquer every human village or raze it to the ground with your well-trained, crafty Minions and then use your demonic charms to go after the black hearts of the three alluring mistresses. Who said romance is dead?

DrunkSte: If I'd have know this was coming out on GOG I wouldn't have picked it up on Steam last month. Too late to refund it now I guess even though I've only played it for 20 minutes to check it works.
Steam refund rules say that you can still ask for a refund and they may decide to grant it if you don't abuse refunds. But you need a believable reason. Quote: "There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we’ll take a look."

idbeholdME: Will probably buy just to be free of Steam.
A good game but not as good as the first one. Still would definitely recommend to everyone. Fun times to be had indeed.

Ilona: Thanks GOG . Now we need Overlord: Fellowship of Evil here to complete our collection .

idbeholdME: Don't speak about that which should not be named. That travesty of a game should have been released on mobiles and not just kill this otherwise great franchise.
For me only the first two Overlord games make the "real" series for PC. Would love to see an Overlord 3 one day.
But at the same time everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :)

P.S. Before anyone marks me as dismissive, I can't comment on Overlord games made for other game systems (e.g. Wii) because I've never played them.

Geralt_of_Rivia: Am I the only one who can't install the game because the installer fails the integrity check?
Nope, I can't download it through Galaxy either.
I'll join the numerous saying insta-bought or a variation there on :)

immi101: afaik with those games you mentioned, Aspyr only acts as publisher, they didn't develop the linux port.
well, at least Aspyr is not listed as developer, in contrast to all their other projects.
What problem do Aspyr have with GOG though?
Finally at last !

never understood why this game didnt get sooner on GOG already, frankly... When Overlord 1 + Rising Hell went into GOG catalog, both overlord games were already a decade old or so, and we have had other later high profile games coming here too...

Both overlord were published by codemaster, and in fact, both games alredy were available DRM free on other digital stores since at least a couple of years or more (Zoom for overlord 2 iirc and a bit lately it was added to the Humble Trove as well rather quickly after the first one was put in too)

This game is a cool sequel, with same wicked humor and gameplay that was already fun in first Overlord. I'm glad to finally see it here. Just wished it came sooner, and also to understand why it took so long

HertogJan: The downloader version also seems to be broken, as is Red Faction Guerilla RE-MARS-TERED, see screenshot.

fronzelneekburm: I'm getting the same error with the downloader. Downloading the English installer via Galaxy also gets me an error.
No reply to my ticket yet, but both downloaded fine this evening.

Instabought!

I have been waiting long time for this game to come to GOG!

That's very unlikely to happen since Codemasters have focused only on making/publishing racing games for these last few years.

That's unfortunate.
Still, one can hope.

who knows ....
the issue you guys mentioned earlier in the thread about distinguishing linux sales <=> windows sales, which can't work the same way on GOG as it works on Steam seems the most reasonable explanation.
but really, your guess is as good as mine.

Same here. The 2 PC games are the main ones. The others are just filler. The only one that maybe could be considered would be Dark Legend, but I find the childhood of the second Overlord to be pretty irrelevant. I've watched some gameplay it was more a children game that anything else.

I really liked the story of the first one and how under all that humor a pretty grim story is hidden as you uncover the events before your resurrection and come to the somewhat unexpected finale. You do it for pretty much nothing but yourself as a proper Overlord should. "Yeah, but I like being the Overlord so F you and you schemes".
Overlord 2 was pretty generic and in the end it was the standard "save the world before a greater evil" situation.

I am afraid though, that Overlord 3 will not come because the last game was such a terrible failure on all fronts that I think they shelved the franchise for good.

Overlord 3 is probably on the top of my wishlist for new games, now that Serious Sam 4 is coming.

First moment I saw it I thought finally no-Steam version.
But then I took a closer look at OS support. Well so much for the excitement.

From my own observations, games will fail to validate if there's a new update ready or coming soon if they were added into it from before. It's a fair bit of a pain but it also tends to resolve itself in a few hours to a day.
I did like the first one, will check out the sequel at a laer date. Nice Release.
