JoaoPauloZA: wow...that's some bullshit to change the price right after I bought it. I was happy initially, but now they're messing with my funds.
Refund it and buy it again mate. Suck that happen.
avatar
Yeshu: Even without the discount it's still worth the price and it's not that much to begin with.
avatar
JoaoPauloZA: Says you. I already spent $300 this sale already.
Maybe little control would help? Just teasing!

Midoryu: A heads-up to the people mentioning a missing discount:
The 75% discount is now active. It's sold now for 5€.
Thanks. I thought something was off, so I decided to wait for a sale... guess the wait is now over :).

Contact support, ask for a partial refund that covers the 75% price difference. If you request wallet funds, I'm confident your request will be granted.

Telika: Yes, especially as Tolkien wasn't very descriptive, ...
What? Really? One reason why I always had trouble reading those - recommended by everybody and their mom - books was that I got so tired of all the descriptions. I don't want to know about each tree and each land or hill or whatnot ... I want to have some story.... yes, sorry ... no bookworm at all - please don't kill me. I don't want to say that those books are bad - not at all ... but not very descriptive? Makes me shiver to read a descriptive book then.

Same thoughts as bought it early today before the price drop

randomuser.833: Ask for refund option and buy it again.
And next time, wait a few hours because it is not the first time the discount went live later...
and how do you do that when you get the gogbear thing when going to order history and/or try to request refunding in anyway?

Fuck that bro, not having impulse control is how you stay young ;)

on topic: I can't help but wonder if GOG messed up or if they got stressed out by the inital low sales numbers and decided to give us a discount to rank up the numbers? I just bought it anyways...

It's a convoluted process, but I'll try to explain. First, go to your order history and request a refund. After that, you'll receive an email confirmation to which you cannot reply. After that, go back to gog support and use the contact button to get acquainted with the chat bot. Answer other for the info requested, provide your email, then tell them the specific nature of your refund request. They'll figure it out pretty quickly.

Can't even do that I get the ''Gogbear'' in trying to go to order history so not viable on my end

hmmm...is that their placeholder for missing pages? sounds like server problems to me.

''Gogbear'' is basically a ''server overwhelmed '' thing you know the bear or whatever holding the world image of theirs? I can't believe the issue is server side as its been that way for like four months or so but I know its not my end

Well, Rings has a slow start. And part of its charm is in the environment description. Essentially the childhood impressions of Tolkien between Great Britain and South Africa (hence something difficult to capture and even harder to re-transmit visually). But orcs, for instance, are essentially "ugly" boogeymen. An efficient vagueness. Especially in The Hobbit (which I actually consider superior to the Rings), and its granddaddy-tells-you-a-fairy-tale tone...

Stephen King would have described each inch of their skin, in a paradoxically more fast-paced novel. Matter of descriptive focus...

Going with mess up since all new releases from older games have discounts. Lack of staff man!
I bought this for $20, and not even a day's over, and now it's only $5!?
