A haze of neon carnage.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, a conclusion to the psychotic saga, is now available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Limbs strewn everywhere, pulsating to the rhythmic thump of a haunting mixtape sound. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a conclusion to the game that's conquered so many of our hearts, then left them bleeding out in the corner of a musty motel room. A quiet end, we should count ourselves lucky. Hotline Miami is now back with a thick, bloody vengeance. If there is one thing to love about the series (other than than the incredible soundtrack and gritty neon-laced setting), it's the precise, fast-paced gameplay which just got bigger and better. There are plenty of new, unique mask abilities like dual wielding or chainsaws (or maybe even both?), as well as seven new playable characters to make up this twisted part-prequel, part-sequel story of Jacket's aftermath.

If there was ever a good reason to pick up the bigger package, the Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Digital Special Edition comes with the Remix EP and 6 unique tracks. An absolute treat, if you're into the Hotline musical stylings. Nothing's lost if you don't want to make the commitment just yet. You can always pick up the standard edition, and get the upgrade later. Once it is complete, all versions of the game will also come with a DRM-free Custom Level Editor to create your own maps and share them with friends.

Ring ring. It's Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. Will you pick up?

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is unavailable for purchase in Australia. If you missed our brief statement during pre-orders, we'd like to shed a bit of light on the situation:

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board - the classification and censorship body formed by the Australian Government - this means that we are legally unable to sell the game to our Australian customers. We hated to hear it as much as you do, but after thoughtful consideration we felt that by refusing to sell the game worldwide, we would effectively apply the Australian censorship to 190+ other countries in the world. That would be unfairly punishing not just to our customers, but also the developers who took a stand against censoring their game.
By preventing purchases from IP's located within the borders of Australia, we make sure that the smallest number of people are affected by the ban. It sucks, but we believe it's the least of all evils.

I find it hard to believe Dennation didn't want to make this, source?

Just google it. They didn't come out and say: WE DON'T WANNA DO THIS, but HM2 was essentially DLC for 1 that got so bloated, they felt they needed to make it a sequel. They said they're done after this, though and are trying to make the level editor good enough so that community content will literally be HM3. This is why the ending is so pretty much cut and dry.
That they had such a good time making the DLC that it turned into the sequel would suggest the opposite in my opinion.

I assume they aren't doing a third (Yet) because they have other games they would like to make. A bit like Jason Bourne, give them some time and they will want to make 3 just because everyone enjoys it so much.

Well, the part about them being done after this one was a direct quote from Soderstrom, but if the demand is there for an "official" HM3, it might happen anyway. If you've finished it, though, I'm not quite sure where you'd go after that. (Judging by the ending.) It could be retconned, considering both games are largely either drug or coma fueled hallucinations, so it's tough to say what is exactly canon and isn't, aside from how HM2 starts and some of the levels. (Jacket's trial, Evan's chasing down bits of his story for his book, Richter's mom, 50 Blessings, etc, etc, etc.)
How massively creative Dennation are, I'm positive they could think of something, and find a way out of even what looks like a complete dead end.
This did have to be the month in which I decided to travel to Australia :'(

I guess you wanted to take advantage of our weak dollar I'm sure a pound buys more at the moment.
Hmm I'd originally discounted the game then watched totalbiscuit's review and now I kind of want to play it.

Oh well will wait until it goes on a special and maybe us a VPN and buy it on GOG.

CMOT70: So why doesn't the developer just attach a paypal account to their website for "donations"? Then Australians can just download it from TPB (i haven't checked, but i'm guessing it's already on there) and if they're inclined to do so, make a "donation". Those that download it without donating probably were never going to pay for it anyway, but the honest Australians can still give something to the Dev.
Of course this type of thing could run the risk of being too successful and small Devs working out that in this modern era of high speed world spanning internet that Publishers and Distributors are just parasites when it comes to digital only distribution.
Oh you could use Tor to by it from here.

groze: I'm aware this might be due to the game just having been released, but I'm missing the extras (namely, the EP) from my Digital Special Edition, on my GOG shelf. I'm downloading the game now, but I saw no extras whatsoever available to download...

JudasIscariot: Will be here in a few minutes :) Taking care of some last-minute details :)
I think it's the same for me.

missgamer: I would love to buy this from GOG, and will in the future if we are ever allowed. So for now I will follow the advice given directly from the developers themselves to Australians in order to play this wonderful game.
Or you could buy it using Tor browser.

Klink: If you're an Aussie and you want to purchase the game (even though the devs are okay with pirating a copy) there is a way to do it... through Steam unfortunately.

Simple - Go to the www.steampowered.com/?cc=us website (which forces the US store and prices), add Hotline Miami 2 to your card, go to www.steampowered.com/?cc=au to force the Aussie site, go back to your cart, check out and fill in the purchasing details as necessary.

I would have loved to have purchased a GOG copy seeing as I have the first game from here but if they refuse to sell it due to arbitrary laws (that really have no place in the digital marketplace) then I will happily take my business elsewhere.

You're welcome. :D
Hide your IP, that how I got my gog copy.

Lurchibald: As an Australian I will also be following the game creator's advice. :D
you could also hide your ip and buy it from here.

SPOILERS!!!!!
To be frank, I'd probably still play a Hotline Miami: Six-String Samurai game, even if they pick up where Wrong Number ends. Especially considering the Russian angle and whatever survivors are left.
This game is just, beyond f**kin legendary. Thanks GoG for bringing it to us on release day.

Got a x7 combo with the chainsaw yesterday, I kinda like the smoothed controls actually.

Had to switch to guns just because I was slicing up whole levels with just a knife. And it's even more fun blasting the hell outta everyone with an Uzi.

Played about 5 or so stages last night.

Not sure why the GOG reviews are so poor, to be honest. It feels pretty much like Hotline Miami, with its bumpin' soundtrack, fast kills, and twitchy gameplay.

No .ogg soundtrack included in the game directory is a big loss though :( Hope there's someway it can be offered outside of Steam.
Wow it's hard. It most likely destroyed a lot of gamers.

*Beat the third chapter, awesome!
