Best experienced with a mouse.

Ghost of a Tale is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

The gritty fantasy adventure has finally scurried out of its In Development mousehole!
In a medieval world of animals, where the Mice have been marginalized by the vindictive Rats, Tilo's search for his beloved will accidentally throw him in harm's way. The little mouse minstrel is not much of a fighter, but cunning, guile, and nimbleness are forces to be reckoned with and Tilo wields them as expertly as he does his trusty lute.

Fortuk: You want the 6.29 installer. That's the release version.
Thanks!
This looks absolutely brilliant!
the thing that has me worried though... why is the download only like 3,5gb big? thats not a lot for a game that has supposedly such great graphics. is it really short?

I love your plays on words in every announcement, but, ironically, the devs of this game actually recommend using a controller instead of keyboard + mouse (although KB+M is still supported):

Although Ghost of a Tale is fully playable with mouse and keyboard, we'd strongly recommend playing with a gamepad for the best experience (from the Steam store page)

Kill the computer, buy it with your phone.
Destroying antiques? Isn't that rather crude?

And - my phone isn't smart enough to buy anything.

Yes, I'm surrounded by antiquities, suitable for my age.... *shrug*
What about achievements in gog galaxy - are they supported? I have seen them few hours back, when game was still EA, but now they are gone?

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. Hopefully it's a bug.
I played Ghost of a Tale during In Development and have been really looking forward to this. There are barely any games that know how to nail that feeling of going on an adventure, and this is one of them. It doesn't rely on being cinematic, or shoving into your face what you need to do, but instead gives you room to breathe and just explore the wonderful storybook that it presents you with. I'm really hoping it manages to live up to the expectations I built over the course of In Development.

Leroux: Thanks!
You're welcome. :) The 4.90 patch is a remnant of In Development and obsolete.

Install size is 5.3gb. Stated length is 8-10 hours if you don't explore or do quests, and around double when you do. Having played the In Development build, I can say that he's downplaying it somewhat because this is not a game that you'll want to rush through. While it's not a Witcher 3 with a massive world and oodles of content, what it does exceedingly well is present you with a world that you want to explore, with art direction that serves a gameplay purpose through making you want to see all the things that are out there and what you can do with them. It's a 'smaller' world than the typical open world RPG, but much more lived in and memorable.

Was stuck at 99.5% for awhile. Took a couple of "pause download" and restarting for it to get the last few megabytes. Very weird.
Great, I'm very excited about this release! Such a lovely game :)
very good news indeed
it's out of indev?

will give it a few days until reviews settle.

but now i'm TOTALLY on board and will probably buy [and not wait for a discount.]

It's nice to see this cute little mouse not get snapped up by Gearbox, or forever be stuck in [in dev] limbo... yes, I'm looking at you EXANIMA. Bad GOG, time to curate better.
