You'll take part in the eternal galactic war between various cosmic factions, and battle hundreds of different enemy starships. Outfit your dreadnought with thousands of components and crew to become the commander of the deadliest (and coolest!) spacecraft in the galaxy!

Prepare for the action-packed space-opera experience of a lifetime - get Drox Operative and its Invasion of the Ancients, today! The 50% off special release promo will last until Tuesday, January 6, at 10:59AM GMT.

Magnitus: Reminds me of Solar Winds a bit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HypxJ1_uwMQ). Loved that game, though I don't think this one relies on skill as much during battles.

Still, I'll probably get it.
I played that one on my old 386! I didn't remember its title though.

tinyE: Now THAT is a game we need here. I haven't played that in ages.
Agreed. I liked the shareware so much back in the day that I got my parents to get me the full version. It came DRM-free in floppies :P.

I'm guessing tracking the rights of the game wouldn't be trivial.

Hi,

I have it on steam : some answers for people here

- level cap 100 (500 points attributes)
- one personal stash and one shared stash, upgradable with box of different sizes
- gameplay more like diablo : tons of grinding, loots, and so on...
- story (star)maps exists,
- you control the maps you generate (size, number of races, and so on)
- different ways to win, from alliance, to destroy all opposition, or better, terrorize all the galaxy...
- yes, with unluck, you can loose a map : big deal, you only loose some loot and during the level up, the next map will bring you better random stuff
- loot level : gray, white, green, blue, violet, orange
- there is mods available on the sodiak forum
- different races, different bonus

Drox = hack'n slash in space... Personnaly, I like it...

Happy hunting, and remember, the bigger is not always the better, but it's always the easiest target :)

JPR out!

This game looks interesting. It reminds me of Subspace and Naev. Can it run in a window?

I couldn't help but notice your Obblinox avatar, kudos.

Thanks for the end of the year release GOG! I was worried that we would get nothing at all.

I never played the full version.
It's been years so bare with me; was Winds the one where at the end of the Freeware you got blasted and became kind of a half-robot? I think that's something else, though I still remember Winds and how much fun it was to just fly the ship around.
I've been feeling the holiday slump, so I bought this right away :)

Was waiting for it to show up anyway!

Happy new year everyone! Less than 2 days left in 2014!

Can't wait to see awesome releases in 2015 ;D

No, that wasn't it. The main plot which was revealed in the full version was a bit Lovecraftian.

You can read the plot on wikipedia if you don't mind spoilers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_Winds

Yes, It can run in a window or full screen. There are guides for it too as it has a bit of a learning curve.

The good news - Yay! I've been waiting for this one since Din's Curse showed up not too long ago, and thought the wait would be a lot longer! I'm also between games right now and this seems like a perfect solution!

The bad news - I just finished up a "real time space RPG" (Nexus) and I'm between games because I'm just about to finish the manual for X3. Grrr! Do I totally OD on space action? Do I push X3 aside for a bit? Do I play Drox and then go into X3 and really fill my plate with loot filled tiny spaceships??? Decisions decision...
