Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.

LootHunter: I think there is a chance for Diablo 2, but with StarCraft - it makes no sense. The game is free on Battle.net.

MatrixRaven: No. Both Diablo II and Starcraft are currently available directly from Blizzard.
Yup, same with Warcraft 3. Still, we might be able to see Warcraft 1 and 2 come here..............maybe. I do recall a while ago Blizzard wasn't planning on doing anything with them because they were too outdated or something along those lines.
So a friend has been asking me for this game. He was a huge fan of the original. I started with D2 & LOD.
We play D3 and D2 from time to time. When I saw Diablo 1 on GoG.. I knew, I had to have it.

It works flawlessly without any errors or problems.

The one caveat is that for using Battlenet via the classic version, you MUST port forward UDP 6112 through your router.
You may not be able to create or join battlenet games otherwise. You will recieve an error message if it is not properly configured. After this minor change, you should no longer get the "unable to connect" error that appears when trying to use Battlenet.

Now I must return to stop Diablo and his minions...

Thanks for the heads up :)
Just saw that Blizzard announced Diablo on GOG on their Battle.net client. Glad to see such good publicity for GOG since most Blizzard fans hang around there and are very dedicated.

Was wondering is there a possibel for gog/ Blizzard will release Diablo in other languages too? or is there a licencing issue with the other languages?
That's great! I haven't played the original Diablo in over a decade.

frost0: It's on page 13, going towards 12.

tfishell: Solid, thanks. I think it'll get onto the first or second page pretty quickly, like Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines.
Without a doubt. Page 9 at this moment.

dadahl: I'd pay for a drm-free version.
+1. May be not "full price", but at something like "half-Diablo" - for sure. And also for The Lost Vikings, for example (preferably with Sega Genesis / Mega Drive ROM as bonus).

There were translations?
Afaik at least there never was a German version since I only ever saw the American one.

Now we just need a mod for Diablo 1 to be played in swedish. For anyone that understands scandinavian languages, this is pure comedy gold. It totally kills the dark moody atmosphere of Diablo.

The voice acting is so terrible that it's parodic.

Hope this is a test to see the interest that the old games have. If there is enough interest they may bring more of their classic games.
Holy shit GOG! I didn´t expect to see this game in GOG. Guess miracles happens! This is forced shopping for me. Thank you GOG! Release Diablo 2 soon!
Where does Diablo currently rank among the bestselling of all time on GOG?

Page 9 out of 62 (each page has 48 entries)
#414 out of 2,936 entries

And with that, GOG's financial future is saved. Good job.

Stanna en stund och lyssna! Nej helvetes javlar, nu ska det bli skaldet färskt kött!

Å lytte til svenskt er langt bedre når man er norsk ja ;)
