Alexim: It's here guys!
WHERE?!?!? WHERE?!?!?!?!?

Guess my library entry hasn't updated yet.

Seriously, good news though! I suppose it'll have some sort of Epic Online Services implementation, but we'll see. As far as I'm concerned, that would be preferable to gutted multiplayer.

Grargar: LOL, the addons require a Bethesda login. So much for technical issues delaying the update.
Same thing is the case with the Doom Enhanced Add-ons. I believe I posted about it in this thread fairly recently.

It's not like CDP has any semblance of dignity left anyway, so I guess it's the best one can get.

At least Doom 1+2 come out of the box with some of the addons. Here, they don't even include Quake 64, which was available at launch.

Really, what the fuck lol.
Making accounts for all these random ass one off things is the worst.
At least it helps me save money. Yes i know this is a free update.
It's great to see that Enhanced Update finally arrived, let's hope original Doom 3 is in line.
It also seems to be without achievements, which makes this enhanced edition quite useless. Honestly these days I consider myself lucky that they didn't retroactively cancel the old Quake. XD

There are achievements, but they seem to be in-game only.

Called it. This silly cr*p is exactly why I'm sticking with the source-ports (both Doom & Quake). Anyone who hasn't already backed up their favourite classics should consider doing so now before more of them get bait & switched with Bethesda Shovelware Editions.

Only the Master Levels for Doom II are included as an addon out of the box, and that has been this way since they implemented the addon system on all platforms.

Weird. I just tried a fresh installation of Doom II and it had Final Doom and No Rest for the Living out of the box. Then, out of curiosity, I deleted them from the addons, uninstalled the game, reinstalled and they were not there anymore. Huh...

Whew, glad to see that they did a separate library entry for the Enhanced edition. Was the first thing I rushed to check, despite having the game backed up like 5x.
Seeing as Bathesda didn't bother with galaxy cheevos with Doom64, I kinda expected the same lazy approach with their other releases here. They should take a bath or hire an intern to implement those cheevos in a day or two, since they are already ingame (at least for D64).

fronzelneekburm: Will be a freebie on amazon prime in a short while.

I swear, if they give away the gimped gog version I'll be laughing my ass off.
I laughed my ass off too when I realized that you are calling the original as gimped edition. You know, the legendary game powered by idTech2 engine with both official expansions and original ost by NiN available on the iso backup (something that was sorely lacking on steam release all those years until this enhanced edition). Just to put things into perspective here. I would go for quakespasm, vkquake or similar sourceport anyday over the fanfic enhanced edition that is powered by nightdive's kex engine of all things. Might as well play quake in unity3d or unreal engine instead then. Mods gated behind bathesda net. Gimped edition, my ass!
Nice. Better late than never, but, yeah, needing a Beth account for the extra stuff is kinda dumb. =/
I'm glad for whomever wanted it here, but to me Quake will always be a monstrously pixelated DOS game. And I love to enjoy it that way. More variety is also good though, and as the classic is still available, all is well :).
Nice, Spiltscreen local Coop!!!
