Timboli: Still no sign of Quake Enhanced at GOG, but Epic have it on sale again ($5.98 AUD).

fronzelneekburm: It'll probably be given away on Epic before it's ever released on gog.
Wahhahahahahahahaha!!!! Epic version is free on Prime Gaming now!

I fucking called it, didn't I?!? xD

Browsing the game files now, it would appear that Epic buyers are being treated as second class citizens in their own, special way: The Steam version contains both the vanilla game (plus expansions) and the enhanced edition (plus expansions). The Epic version contains only the enhanced edition - which sucks, since you probably won't be able to play sourceports with the Kex'd N00bDive version (though I could be wrong, haven't checked it yet).

I forgot I already had it on Gamepass anyhow.

IronWail supports Quake Enhanced:

Thanks for that.
Looks like Amazon Prime have suckered me into their Trial.

Yep, Steam provides the 32 Bit version as well as the two original Expansions, plus a folder called 'rerelease' that contains the 64 Bit versions of those, plus the two newer Expansions which appear to be 64 Bit only. The music files only exist in the 64 Bit game and expansion folders, newer expansions excepted.

I cannot get the Epic version to connect to Bethesda.net, to get the Addons, which presumably also includes Quake 64. Not sure if this is due to deliberate disabling or some other issue, as it certainly tries to auto connect.

Huh, I'm afraid I might not be able to provide you with some troubleshooting, as I've already linked my Steam version of Quake Enhanced with bethesda.net, so there's no way of knowing exactly how much the two versions interfere with each other. That being said, I also get an error when I click on the "Go online" button in the add on section, so you may have to set up a bethesda.net account manually on Bethesda's website and link your Epic account for add ons to work.

PS: The current list of available add ons: Quake64, Honey, Underdark Overbright & Copper, Terra, The Punishment Due, Pubicon 2, Beyond Belief

Yeah, I suspect I may have to link my Bethesda account to either Steam or Epic or both, as well as use their client initially.

I've downloaded both Quake EE versions using SteamCMD and Legendary, so not their regular clients.

I also have somewhat of a complicated setup, where I am trying to keep one playing PC as pristine, for testing if games are DRM-Free Lite from those two stores. This PC I am currently using for web stuff, is only 32 Bit, and so won't run Legendary or the 64 Bit version of Quake, which is the only version with Addons in the main game menu or that connects (tries to) to Bethesda.net. My wife's Windows 8.1 PC has been doing the Legendary downloads, but does not have either client installed, whereas this 32 Bit PC has both clients installed. I have another new Windows 11 PC, not quite ready to come online yet, which will be my main gaming machine. My newish but older Windows 10 PC, is unavailable at the moment, for a few reasons. That I believe has both clients installed on it plus several others. Timing is the issue right now, with more important family considerations getting in the way.

Thanks for that info.

I wonder why it appeared a day later than the other free monthly games.

Kind of annoying that you can't be sure when Amazon thinks their month really begins and when it ends, and what game offers there are.

But I was already wondering yesterday that there weren't any Epic or GOG games this month, so I guess this is it for December then.
Not going to repeat myself, so I'll link my other post.

Looks like is finally coming.

Can confirm, Quake1 Enhanced has arrived! Just in time for Christmas! Happy Holidays indeed! Took long enough, but they finally got there.

Thank You Bethesda! Damn decent of you! Now for Fallout 4 please!
Got mine for free, like other owners of the original.
Finally can try the new expansion packs myself and not watch pagb666 :]
I was wrong... I'm glad!
