Charge up for adventure!

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, the modern installment of the classic series, in which the PC gaming's iconic private investigator returns with his fedora, trenchcoat, glorious Full-Motion Video camp, and--who could expect that--amnesia, is now available 10% off for pre-orders on GOG.com. That's $17.99 <s>until April 22</s> until May 7, when the game is expected to arrive. Pre-ordering on GOG.com yields you a special bonus in the form of the game's full soundtrack and one classic Tex Murphy game of your choice!

In Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure the classic adventure hero wakes up--disoriented and head pounding--on the fire escape outside his office atop the Ritz Hotel. Another typical morning for the last of the old-school detectives. Except it isn’t. What starts out as the worst hangover in history becomes a baffling nightmare: something--or someone--has erased Tex’s memory of the past seven years. Motivated by lost love, revenge, and the world’s strongest coffee blend, Tex must retrace his own steps into a maze of unsolved murders, hidden agendas, and lost technologies of Nikola Tesla. Only by solving the mysteries of his past can Tex hope to regain his memory in time to restore what’s been lost and stop a terrifying future.

If you missed Tex, make sure to pre-order Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure on GOG.com, for only $17.99. You'll get instant access to the game's soundtrack (both MP3 and FLAC format), and a special gift-code allowing you to redeem one classic Tex Murphy game of your choice will be sent to you via e-mail by the end of the week. This special pre-order offer lasts <s>until April 22</s> until May 7, when the game is (currently) scheduled for launch.

EDIT:
As per Big Finish Games' statement, the release of Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is postponed to allow the developer some more fine-polishing of the anticipated game. The current expected release date is May 7, 2014. We're sorry if this delay causes you any inconvenience!

sbenrap: Wished I had seen this 5 minutes ago.

Do the Beta codes transform to the full game on launch?
avatar
JudasIscariot: Since you pre-ordered AKA redeemed the backer beta code way back when, then yes, you will have the full game :)
Thanks for the info Judas (I asked because GOG no longer lists I own the game on the gamercard)

Yes, we are preparing ....something....and the ownership flag is changing. If you're ever in doubt ust check your game shelf and as long as you have the box, you have the game :)

JudasIscariot: So can we put the pitchforks down now? :)

Ah and another thing:

The codes will be sent out after the game is released :)
avatar
Crosmando: Do you know what time the game goes live on GOG?
Not as of right now, no, I don't but we are working to get the game out ASAP :) Please bear with us :)

Guess I became a more expensive level backer last night since I bought a copy on GOG, oh well. I'll try to buy one less thing this week to make up.

deonast: You have to put those keys in an envelope and post them, someone didn't have enough stamps. :)
Aye, not to mention all the hired hands needed to get the caravan safely to the nearest post office.

Alright guys, I'm in! I'm happy to announce I purchased this as my first Tex Murphy game! +1 for FMV :)

Umm... however, I'm a little surprised to wake up and see that the game isn't available yet, I assumed everyone had already downloaded it and was busy playing while I was sleeping.

Damn in another hour it is the 18th in Eastern Australia
I had meant to choose GOG for my Backer code, but the lure of the Jazz album on Steam got too strong (though I'm not sure whether the code I redeemed on Steam will enable me to get the Jazz album). I got the main score album as a backer, and its generally rather great, particularly the main theme.

I did redeem Moebius & Broken Sword 5 on GOG :)

If it helps, I have strong suspicions that Steam just got the details wrong on the pre-order bonus.

That "Live Jazz" album was a higher-tier bonus so...I seriously doubt they decided to just let Steam have it. Suspect it's going to turn out to be the same Tesla Effect soundtrack everyone else got.

A little, though at that point it will be annoying that I chose Steam rather than supporting GOG :)

Well...

Thought it might help since it's looking like we don't get the pre-order goodies, so...Not getting the soundtrack again should hurt less.

Sounding like they may send out GOG keys later since they didn't offer a choice and GOG sent some, so...

I'm grateful for the attempt. :) I am surprised they are behind on sending out GOG codes.
