Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, the modern installment of the classic series, in which the PC gaming's iconic private investigator returns with his fedora, trenchcoat, glorious Full-Motion Video camp, and--who could expect that--amnesia, is now available 10% off for pre-orders on GOG.com. That's $17.99 <s>until April 22</s> until May 7, when the game is expected to arrive. Pre-ordering on GOG.com yields you a special bonus in the form of the game's full soundtrack and one classic Tex Murphy game of your choice!

In Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure the classic adventure hero wakes up--disoriented and head pounding--on the fire escape outside his office atop the Ritz Hotel. Another typical morning for the last of the old-school detectives. Except it isn’t. What starts out as the worst hangover in history becomes a baffling nightmare: something--or someone--has erased Tex’s memory of the past seven years. Motivated by lost love, revenge, and the world’s strongest coffee blend, Tex must retrace his own steps into a maze of unsolved murders, hidden agendas, and lost technologies of Nikola Tesla. Only by solving the mysteries of his past can Tex hope to regain his memory in time to restore what’s been lost and stop a terrifying future.

If you missed Tex, make sure to pre-order Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure on GOG.com, for only $17.99. You'll get instant access to the game's soundtrack (both MP3 and FLAC format), and a special gift-code allowing you to redeem one classic Tex Murphy game of your choice will be sent to you via e-mail by the end of the week. This special pre-order offer lasts <s>until April 22</s> until May 7, when the game is (currently) scheduled for launch.

EDIT:
As per Big Finish Games' statement, the release of Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is postponed to allow the developer some more fine-polishing of the anticipated game. The current expected release date is May 7, 2014. We're sorry if this delay causes you any inconvenience!

fronzelneekburm: So, here's what one of the admins on the Big Finish Games forums apparently said:

"Everyone Gets a Steam Key. We had intended on going with GOG keys...but they wouldn't have been able to get them to us in time."

So, no gog keys for backers. No pre-order bonuses for backers. Typical fucking Kickstarter bait&switch bullshit. Outrageous!
I sure hope that means GOG keys tomorrow or pretty soon!

lugum: in time? so uhm why not get them GOG keys later then.
My thoughts exactly! (Even though this game has been announced here well over a month ago, more than enough time to get those keys ready come release day. Hell, even "Moebius" managed to do that!)

I'd take it to their Kickstarter comment section. Let them know how you feel! They can keep their Steam keys and shove them, as far as I'm concerned.

This sucks, I was going to play this tonight :(
What exactly is causing the delay preventing GOG from "delivering the codes in time"? Somebody needs to ship them from somewhere or something?

The version on Steam is supposed to be DRM-free btw.
"Nothing against GOG, but we are delivering Steam codes.
Quick Note:
We are not setting the DRM on Steam
You can download the game, pull it out to your desktop and never use steam again."

This gets a great, big "So fucking what!" from me. If I have to use Steam in any way whatsoever to even get my hands on a game that promised to be DRM-free, they broke their promise, as far as I'm concerned.

Just a quick FYI:

GOG keys have been sent out to Atlus/Big Finish and we hope that all the backers will be seeing them ASAP. Please keep in mind that there is a huge difference in time zones and that's why it looks like the GOG keys were delayed :)
Neat! Thanks for the info, Judas!
Cool

So can we put the pitchforks down now? :)

Ah and another thing:

The codes will be sent out after the game is released :)

Wished I had seen this 5 minutes ago.

Do the Beta codes transform to the full game on launch?

You have to put those keys in an envelope and post them, someone didn't have enough stamps. :)

Since you pre-ordered AKA redeemed the backer beta code way back when, then yes, you will have the full game :)

Well, there go my pre-order exclusives.

Still, better than no gog key at all.

Do you know what time the game goes live on GOG?
