Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, the modern installment of the classic series, in which the PC gaming's iconic private investigator returns with his fedora, trenchcoat, glorious Full-Motion Video camp, and--who could expect that--amnesia, is now available 10% off for pre-orders on GOG.com. That's $17.99 <s>until April 22</s> until May 7, when the game is expected to arrive. Pre-ordering on GOG.com yields you a special bonus in the form of the game's full soundtrack and one classic Tex Murphy game of your choice!

In Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure the classic adventure hero wakes up--disoriented and head pounding--on the fire escape outside his office atop the Ritz Hotel. Another typical morning for the last of the old-school detectives. Except it isn’t. What starts out as the worst hangover in history becomes a baffling nightmare: something--or someone--has erased Tex’s memory of the past seven years. Motivated by lost love, revenge, and the world’s strongest coffee blend, Tex must retrace his own steps into a maze of unsolved murders, hidden agendas, and lost technologies of Nikola Tesla. Only by solving the mysteries of his past can Tex hope to regain his memory in time to restore what’s been lost and stop a terrifying future.

If you missed Tex, make sure to pre-order Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure on GOG.com, for only $17.99. You'll get instant access to the game's soundtrack (both MP3 and FLAC format), and a special gift-code allowing you to redeem one classic Tex Murphy game of your choice will be sent to you via e-mail by the end of the week. This special pre-order offer lasts <s>until April 22</s> until May 7, when the game is (currently) scheduled for launch.

EDIT:
As per Big Finish Games' statement, the release of Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is postponed to allow the developer some more fine-polishing of the anticipated game. The current expected release date is May 7, 2014. We're sorry if this delay causes you any inconvenience!

Here is a code for Pandora Directive:

FSGM-3ZW6-LQE7-VKZE

Playing it was a blast, to say the least.

Wow, an hour later and still unredeemed. Thank you, I grabbed this one. Cheers!

You're welcome.
Really doesn't happen every day that a code goes unredeemed for so long. :)

Karma313th: What exclusive content would that be?

The soundtrack's already available to backers through the Mutant League section.

The only other thing I see is GoG's offer of another Tex Murphy title, but I wouldn't call that "exclusive bonus content".

fronzelneekburm: I was referring to the soundtrack. I already downloaded it from the backer section, but it would still be cool if I could also have it in my gog library.
I just bought it here (though I backed as well) last time I checked we only had the MP3 version from the big finish site for backers. Figure I'll redeem my backer copy on steam, since I've not heard yet how they were planning to do that. Lack of FLAC copy sort of decided this one for me. Though I noticed there is a special edition soundtrack still greyed out in my backer account so maybe that might be FLAC, I suspect not.

The FLAC soundtrack has been added to the backer download section (you'll have to download the soundtrack again, it should be a 200something MB zip file which contains both the mp3 and the FLAC version. Still, it kinda sucks they haven't sent out the keys yet. At the very least, I could've been playing the gog demo while waiting for the finished game.

It's not.

Different soundtrack.

Kind of like the Live Tex Murphy soundtrack's a different thing for backers over a certain amount.

Makes me kind of wonder if Steam got their description wrong or if they're actually giving away that soundtrack instead of the Tesla Effect soundtrack. Seems unlikely, but you never know.
I'm thinking of pre-ordering the game, what would you guys suggest to pick for the free Tex Game? I've never played any of them before.

Pandora looks good, but so does Overseer, and of course Under a Kiling Moon was the FMV origin...

All of them are good, though...I wasn't as big a fan of Overseer since it was a retelling of Mean Streets (which I still prefer as I started with it many years ago).

The best of the FMV games is undoubtedly Pandora as it added quite a bit to UaKM, including pathing for endings, and it's a more involved story.

That said, UaKM has its moments as well, and as the first FMV Tex Murphy...the simplicity definitely isn't a bad thing starting out.

I think UaKM is the best. Pandora adds a lot of features and depth but lacks some of UaKM's simple charm.
Pandora is the best. UaKM is grand but Pandora is more refined and more engrossing plus it is easily twice as longer than UaKM. I'd say it's lkme playing UaKM plus Overseer in on go. Pandora is massive. Probably one of my top 5 games of all time. Anyhow... the wait is almost over! YES!!!!
They just released the Steam keys, though I've understood there should be GOG keys as well. The game is still locked for 14 or so hours, so no playing yet, but at least it now sits in my Steam library.
I hope I can fix my credit card ordering issues before the preorder ends :)

And 3 hours later it is sorted sadly I already bought it using my bank account :( I could of saved 90p Oh well

So, here's what one of the admins on the Big Finish Games forums apparently said:

"Everyone Gets a Steam Key. We had intended on going with GOG keys...but they wouldn't have been able to get them to us in time."

So, no gog keys for backers. No pre-order bonuses for backers. Typical fucking Kickstarter bait&switch bullshit. Outrageous!
