A few of us would like to do a shout-out thread, to highlight game devs that do a great job treating us customers first class. Please post <dev company name> - <game title>.
Because they need our recommendations to spread among the customer community; let's give them a hand. And lets others know some devs/games to consider playing. So this thread is to give kudos, thumbs up, and share with the GOG community who we love, who has been good to us!
Devs who make their game a comprehensive positive experience because of their product quality plus their involvement, attitude and support.
For example:
- being highly responsive to the user community,
- keeping games updated as needed,
- answering emails or discussion on bugs,
- ongoing website and information to encourage, inform, and help play the game,
- supporting game-specific discussion forum by monitoring and commenting (e.g. on website, GOG, subreddit, discord, or whatever),
- handling inquiries in a positive, professional manner
- polishing/patching the game code after publishing, to improve it and reduce bugs
- explaining business decisions to continue or to stop further development
- Other stuff I haven't thought of atm... but you get the idea.
EDIT:
- SOFTWARE QUALITY - i.e., quality of finished product in how smoothly it runs, how well it is designed in its user interface, quality of the game design, and quality management of ongoing patches and updates. Some games are buggier than others. There are many aspects and challenges to producing quality games and ongoing support.
- Full features published on GOG - doesn't limit new features like expansions or coop to steam, for example.
So some devs do an outstanding job of this. It's a LOT of work on top of their regular dev work, so that takes extra labor and budget. Amazingly, some very small dev houses, even a 1-man shop, can do an outstanding job. Some small dev houses don't. Some big dev houses do a good job, some don't.
Would just like to shout-out and give kudos to the devs that treat us great, have great attitude, and go the extra mile after publishing their game.
