I want to get a piñata but I'm afraid of getting some strategy game I'll end up never playing -- it happened to me during the last piñata sale, I got some grand strategy titles that I never even installed, because they're not my kind of game at all.

I see a few games on the tracker list that I'm interested in, but I own most of the games I wanted, already, and it's just too much of a gamble, right now, to buy a Piñata and risk getting a game I wouldn't enjoy or even play, regardless of the base price it goes for...

lext: Based on the posts here, it seems I'm much better off just buying what I want during a sale than gambling on these.
You're always better off that way.

TheNumberThing: I just bought a piñata, and it appears I got NOTHING. Total Jape?
Or maybe I bought it too early? If I don't get anything from it can I ask for a refund?
avatar
IFW: Same here, order shows I bought one, nothing on the Hub...
avatar
McSnake: same here, order paid, no piniata on hub :/
avatar
Garugo: Still waiting for my two pinatas to come through. Will update once I can bop them open!

*Edit - 40 minutes later still not showing up. Hoping it's just a delay and I won't need to bother support with it later.

yyahoo: Bought 5 pinatas. Got, nothing! Yay!
Your Pinatas just arrived ;)

Breja: Again with the gimmicky gambling thing. No thanks.
Some people seem to love it for whatever reason. If the guaranteed value was better I might've given it a spin but no way when $3 games are in the pool.

Usually, I'd keep my ass on the sidelines, but since I'm getting "Deadlight Director's Cut" for free which is on my wishlist, and that I've never participated in any of these grab bag lucky draws (paid version), since the day I've joined GOG, I thought I'd give it a try. Luckily, I got a game that is on my list. Could have been worse, since I'm largely not interested in anything that I didn't put on my wishlist.

I got Tyranny - Commander Edition

Seems like a very good deal.

Also, previously I used Galaxy to buy the Pinata, but it never showed up in the hub using Galaxy to browse the site. As soon as I logged into my browser it did show up. Just if someone experiences similar difficulties.
Bought 14 Piñatas. Almost been an hour and there are none in my inventory. Ugh.

EDIT: Nevermind they work in browser but not in the Galaxy client

Unfortunately, they have not.

"You currently don't have any Piñatas. Get some now!"

Yes, which is typically true of any kind of gambling - you're better off not trying ;)

That said, I did buy a couple just for fun.

Agreed, I got 3 games that I will never play. I wish I could trade them, or just send them to anyone for free, who are interested.
Why the hell do I keep giving this crap a shot?

4 bucks later I have the garbage that is The Guild 2, and I can't even gift it away like previous mystery events.
Another gamble and a couple of good ones more:
- Diluvion
- New Machina
- Risen 3: Titan Lords

I'm not doing it because of an addiction of any kind, mind you; it's all for research purposes.
(Thing is, I have a lot of games already so this kind of sale, as they are always trying to keep you from getting games you already own, feels a little rigged toward us when they start getting out of options... POE aside.

Edit:
+ three other games (I keep reading great games people are getting, and as there aren't all that many in the list on page one I don't have... I tend to think my chances are good.
I got:
- Everything
- Brigador
- The Signal From Tölva

So another three good ones.
