Heya guys. I just want to put the result of my Pinatas here.

I was gonna skip this deal after reading this thread. But then GOG decided to add more games into the pool. And I'm glad I decided to try and bought a few Pinatas. :D

Here's what I got:
- Hard West : Have it already on Steam from Humble Bundle. But not too bad actually.
- Icewind Dale : Enhanced Edition : Already have the classic so it's kind of a good addition for me since i loved the game
- Tahira: Echoes of the Astra Empire: Dunno what game it is. But judging from the description and reviews, it's a turn-based strategy/RPG hybrid. And since I'm a big fan of those games, it's a good addition to my library.
- BattleZone 98 Redux: One of the best oldies games that got remastered. Dunno how good the remastered version is but if it is as good as the original, then I'm excited for this one.
- Legends of Eisenwald: Now, this is my biggest catch. I was eyeing this game for such a long time. So I am excited for this.

So to sum it up, I think the current Pinatas event has been awesome for me. Thank you GOG!

MarkoH01: Seeing many posts of people who bought quite a lot of pinatas I wonder if you are planning to keep them all or refund every game you don't want. I am really curious here. If GOG would have given out game codes I would know the answer since I know several of those I like to call sneaky gifters ;) but in this case it really makes me wonder if you will try those games, refund them or simply hide them away in your library forever.

Corwim: Last Pinata sale, I asked them whether they would consider taking the games that didn't interest me out of my account in exchange for store credit, and they replied 'no problem'. I think that's a rather fair solution, I don't get a bunch of games on my shelves I'll never play, while GOG gets to keep my money. :-) Not sure they'll have the same approach this time around, but even if they don't, I know it's a bit of gambling going on and I had my fun in the end.
The official Pinata thread had a blue replying somewhere that Pinatas are definitely included in their Money Back guarantee. So they're fine with refunds.
As I stated previously though, I do see Pinatas as gambling, and I'll take the bad with the good. Unless it's a dupe, at which point I'll ask for Wallet credit, I keep it.
The only instances I can think of in which I would "return" a game I didn't own was if I had a moral objection to the game (yeah, right!), or if I was absolutely certain I wouldn't play a game. So far, none of the "duds" have fulfilled the criteria.
But, some people don't see it as a form of gambling, or may not have the funds to keep the games. Fair play to them if GOG are okay with it (which they are).

Getcomposted: I'd be tempted to plunge into the pool and try and get We Are the Dwarfs, but only one person has mentioned getting it as a Pinata, almost two hours ago. The odds are very long. I'd probably get Pilots 2. No skinny dipping for me. Too cold!

Kristian: Right around the time I mentioned getting it, I sae someone else mention it as well.
But that was nearly three hours ago, and no mention since then. I'm fairly convinced there are no copies lazily backstroking around. ;)
Besides, I've spent enough. I do save my pennies for sales and stuff, but I think I've hit my limit. ;)

4 Piñatas:

Legends of Eisenwald
Cossacks 3
Tahira: Echos of the Astra Empire
Kona

I think I'm done.

XYCat: I wanted to buy Armikrog instead of a piňata but I found out it's not discounted anymore. :(
avatar
IAmSinistar: Shame I can't gift it to you, it's wasted on my shelf.
No problem. Contact support and let it convert into a gift code. They might do it (they did it for me once).
One Piñata: Cossacks 3, am happy and I am done.

This is one of the hidden gems on GOG. I backed it on KS and the devs really tried to make the game stand out in a lot of ways. I think they succeeded and the end result is certainly worth playing.

Anime-BlackWolf: Buying blind and then refunding unwanted titles is not okay, this is fucking with GOGs customer service and trying to manipulate the system. Not okay.
Imo not completely true. The possibility of refunding a game (by withdrawal from contract) which you have not downloaded is in fact part of their own TOC. If they wanted they could add to their TOC that this option is not available in such a sale but they did not. However I do agree that buying and then refunding kind of takes the whole idea (and fun) out of the Pinata sale even though imo I would never call it "manipulate the system" or even "fucking with customer support" like you worded it so nicely. GOG does make the boundarys and we follow them. That is all.

Anime-BlackWolf: If you haven't downloaded it yet, call support and ask for a convertion into a giftcode.

Maybe this way you can gift it to someone else... I don't think support will deny you, if this is the only game you want to have changed into a code...

Thank you both, I have contacted support about it. Normally I wouldn't have, had it been any other game, as I believe in taking the bad with the good in this kind of sale. But I really don't want to support that game in any way, after the hateful bile issued from one of the devs. I can't condone that, even indirectly.
Today's Pinatas...

Normality
Gemini Rue
Swat 4: Gold Edition
Perimeter
Krush Kill 'N Destroy 2: Krossfire
3 Pinatas

!) BLACKHOLE
2) Memoranda
3) RiME

Not familiar with any of these games though I quite like the look of RiME and was surprised to get such a recent release.
Two Pinatas :

- 1954 Alcatraz
- Homeworld: Emergence

Could you explain please? I once contacted the devs of Armikrog for a patch missing on GOG and they added it quite fast. So my experiences are quite good here.

It's nothing to do with the game. One of the devs is a homophobic hatemonkey. The others apparently are decent people, just with poor taste in friends.
Here are my picks so far

Mon (14/08) - 5 Pinatas bought and redeemed

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition
Guild of Dungeoneering
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Trine 2: Complete Story
Cossacks 3

Fri (18/08) - another 5

The Sexy Brutale
Meridian: Squad 22
This War of Mine (Soundtrack Edition)
Diluvion
Pillars of Eternity

Not sure if I'm that lucky, or it is due to fact that I already own 1000+ games here ;-)

I see I have just about enough wallet credit to my nick for two piñatas with 15c to spare.... NO NO, STAY STRONG ME!
