yog: two wolf flavored kills doesn't suggest multiball? And flavor suggests worrier is something a la watcher or protective.

Yeah, I was just re-reading everything.

Hmmmmm.

Two werewolf factions, though? Two packs in one village? Man, that would really suck for us.

I dunno.

It's just... too bizarre.

babark: I was told my target didn't need my help.

If I was lying about what I am, I'm pretty sure I'd have been caught out by now.
This response, for me, goes back to Stan's question about why I kinda doubt babark is bluffing about the role piece of things. This will probably ramble a bit but bear with me.

Wyrm is a great example of someone who can measure the data on the table, and make a fabulous fake bluff with a normal role claim. (adalia and yogs, conversely, both good examples of people who can make a fake role claim with a role so outlandish you kinda want to believe it, and with zero chance of a counter-claim).

babark, no offense, is a fairly newish, and reasonably competent player, but he's definitely not Wyrm. If there's day chat (possible, but not typical) maybe scum together compile a bunch of data and determine that doctor is a fake claim, or convince him to get a counter-claim as he goes down. But I don't think he makes that call on his own while under significant pressure.

This is meta, admittedly, but I just think it's low probability he's making it up completely.

Could he be scum doctor? The two flips, again, were just "Werewolf." Not "Werewolf lawyer" or even "Proud werewolf" a la Quad's modifier. Zero modifiers. His whole day makes more sense to me if he is really "_insert alignment_ doctor", but I don't think the available evidence supports "Werewolf doctor."

Could we kill him just to fish for some other faction that would benefit from having a doctor vs. vig/SK/wolves? I suppose, but that seems pretty low-yield as a strategy to me, and in theory we have no need to play desperate with 2 wolf flips in the bag. Either there's one faction that took a big hit, or there are multiple factions but that generally means split votes.

TLDR: He's not a level 1 wolfer. Maybe he just did get lucky, pull doctor out of his butt, and through the miracle of science get no counter-claim at all because town just had a bodyguard (if that's what Quad was) but...

The other point is I think it's at least pretty clear he wasn't w/w with RW, and at least for now it appears RW/Dess were probably paired.

I know I brought up the flavor bit, but that was mostly to seek clarity if he had some to add on setup- I don't think we help ourselves from nitpicking him further. He's either confused or knows little or knows something and has deemed it best not to share.

I guess I'd ask anyone who really wants to push him further to explain how exactly scum!babs fits with the flips we do have or a viable setup that's actually worth digging into D2.
If it is multiball - two wolf teams - the suicide seems especially harsh.

Two teams of two wolves?

But how could it be balanced to have one wolf suicide if his pal gets dirked to the gut?

I yearn for another explanation to two wolf victims during the night.

btw, agree with bler above. babark is off the table. So are Ix, Tammy, and bler himself.

That leaves Lift, Brasas, cristi, Nacho, trent, Stan.

I'm not feeling a Stan lynch anymore.

Five choices left for me. Not too bad. I want to re-read Brasas and Nacho, when I invent a time-storage device and can get to it.
I think you give babark's claim more credit than it deserves but yeah this is an unproductive conversation.

Yeah, you've definitely said too much now :)

I don't think it's the end of the world, though. If there are multiple factions (bears, perhaps as I joked in signup or werephants as wyrm joked) perhaps you're dangerous to one but not others, etc.

Personally I have two theories on what you do. One seems more likely than the other, but ultimately if you're still guessing (and you're town) scum have to guess as well.

yogsloth: Oh, btw, I got the same as trent last night. Somebody followed me. Maybe. I decided to skip the moonshine and instead got baked like a Dorito and ate an entire pig’s worth of bacon.
Wait...is your latest post you actually helping? You're going to make me vote Lift over you, aren't you?

Not sure why I thought there was more than one bus... now that I think of it, you were the one who intervened when ...walrus?... wanted to bus Tmofer. Clearly games I didn't play in in summer are getting hazy.

Speaking of hazy, I debated whether to note this, but I also got baked last night, apparently. And made unspecified food and tea. No mention of being followed home, just puking and shaking in an anxious daze.

My flavor does seem tied to events elsewhere, though. I awoke more relaxed and less paranoid. While I believe my function still functions, there was some implication that if we continue to kill scum my paranoia might at some point wane completely and slip to dysfunction.

Not sure if it's really meaningful or just flavor.

Good ol' walrus. I remember that guy. What a fine odobenul specimen he was.

This is quite the detailed case, but don't suppose you'd care to elaborate just a little bit more.
Suddenly, during the early discussings, Eric Barton stands up and yells "I say we kill Dan!"

Everyone stares at him a little awkwardly and someone says "that's nice, but, we're not trying to decide to kill anyone quite yet. We're discussing what happened last night and this morning. We all need to take at least a little time to at least try and get some of us on the same page about something, or at least get a good portion of the things to discuss on the table and start discussing them, plus allow for everyone to have a chance to digest what happened, before getting all 'let's kill someone!'? It does seem like the attacks are only happening on or around full moons, I think we have a bit of time to discuss what happened and how to proceed before making cases to kill people. Of course, we'd love to hear why you want to kill Dan, if you'd like to share, but trying to make a motion towards killing someone at this point will get you nowhere."

Right-o.

Nachomamma8: By "wasn't visited", do you mean "wasn't killed"?
Doctor is a fairly standard role which allows you to protect a player at night from harm. If your role name is "doctor", then you probably protect from night kills.
avatar
babark: Do you think I am trying to hide something in clever phrasing?
I assume they'd have to be visited before killed. If I was there, they wouldn't have been killed at all (presumably), so they weren't visited.

This is my first time being a doctor (or in any power role at all), so I've no idea what is fairly standard. But the amount of "maybes" and "mights" I was given in the description of my role makes me wonder.
My concern was less that you were hiding something in clever phrasing and more over thinking a fairly standard role OR that drealmer was trolling you by making a role one thing and having it do something completely different.

avatar
Ixamyakxim: I didn't ask for clarification because I'm assuming drealmer gave me all the information my role and snooping is supposed to yield. I think it's up to us to figure out its purpose or what I might eventually find.
Could you do me a favor and ask him about it? I wouldn't share his response with the rest of the class, but I do think there's a possibility he will make it a little clearer for you.

yogsloth: What's a "worrier" precisely? Is that like a one-way Lover?
No clue. Flavor doesn't really point to lovers.

avatar
Stanari: I think you give babark's claim more credit than it deserves but yeah this is an unproductive conversation.
My position is les "Babark isn't good enough to fakeclaim doctor" and more "I don't think scum would claim results in the way that Babark just did.

yogsloth: Vote Brasas
How exactly did you look at that list of people and decide to settle on Brasas?
You all seem to be mistaken.

I didn't vote for Brasas.

I voted for "bra sass", because I enjoy women's undergarments with a little attitude.
