Many out of ten gamers agree: a healthy wishlist is key to a happy lifestyle.
Case in point, we just launched a sale on over one hundred fifty of the most wishlisted games and DLC on GOG.COM.

That's not the only reason to have a wishlist – give a few pointers to your friends, family, and rich internet strangers; accidentally send it to all your contacts (oops); or if you're waiting for the sale, which you are, we'll let you know when it's time to spend some cash (it's now).

So what tops our community's wishlists?
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and expansions hold the #1 spot – grab the complete Game of the Year Edition at 60% off, or continue the story with Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine both 50% off.

I've been able to get King of Dragon Pass and I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream from my wishlist. I couldn't get around playing them just yet but I have to say King of Dragon Pass' soundtrack was worth the price in itself.

Okay, friends, let's think rationally:

1. It's logical that discounts are quite low.

There is some discounting process, starting with low discount and reaching -90% after a few years from release. During that time period most of people interested in a game become its owners - and the game is no longer massively wishlisted. It's just obvious, when you think about it. Wishlisted titles are games that people want, but cannot afford at the moment. That usually means games more expensive than deeply discounted games for $1 - because such games quickly become owned and disappear from wishlists.

2. Do not expect miracles from giveaway.

GOG suggested that various titles will be given away to "thousands" of users. But, please, note that all massive giveaways are always made in cooperation between GOG and publishers. GOG never pays for that games. They provide platform and publisher agrees to give away a game for free - usually as a promotion of some other title, release etc.
If there is no particular game and publisher in game this time, I suppose that GOG just pays something for the codes and in consequence the whole initiative cannot be massive - it's impossible for GOG to buy a game from wishlist of each and every user and I think some people started to expect something like that...

Only a handful of my wishlist is on sale, and of that the best sale is 55%...so I'll keep waiting, thanks.

Well, the only discount that's tempting me is Planescape: Torment Enhanced edition.
Unless I've missed something, this is the deepest discount so far?

Breja: Apparently my taste in games is really damn peculiar, as barely a quarter of my rather long (62 games) wishlist is on sale. And as most of it is only 15-20% off, I'll sit this one out. Not a big deal though, I've got plenty of backlog.
24/116 games.
There are a few good discounts though. I think I will get the first two Dreamfall games.

EDIT: 22 out of 116 games. 2 are from the last weekly sale.

Pretty much spot on, but at the same time there's also:

3. The reason these games are still on users' wishlists is most probably because those users weren't impressed with current and previous price offers for the titles yet. So it's also rational to expect that they won't be too excited about being presented with the same offers as before (e.g. TW3 - if someone wanted to buy the GOTY edition at the current sale price, they could already have done so, several times).

Personally, my issue with this sale would not be how underwhelming it is (I've come to expect that), but the hype created around it (by GOG and goglodytes alike).

the giveaway game wasnt on my wishlist, so i guess it's only reasonable that i dint got that game. :)

I don't think I ever won anything here on GOG. Still, I don't mind. I have a backlog, so I think it's even a good thing others got some stuff, instead of having it gather virtual dust on my "shelf" for three months.

Unless the free games went to people with even more of a backlog...
