iippo: Thats good old classic.

If you want some more modern "non-Dethklok" metal, check Detroit Metal City.

Live action trailer

Personally i liked the manga most, but i am reader type.
Wow that's intense! thanks for the links :)
Sometimes I can get into Anime, and sometimes not. The only anime that I have watched from start to finish : Blue Gender (the series).
Just a salute to the guy who started the thread.

Hope all is well. c

I thought I'd ask here - I love Amon Amarth. Just want to see if anybody knows of similar bands that I haven't heard of yet. I generally use iTunes so there's all the "people also bought" stuff, but thus far I haven't found anyone who grabs me the same way they do.

Also a big fan of Amon Amarth. A couple you might check out that are fairly similar in style are and [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBdRra2tYp8]Be'Lakor.

Thanks; I'll check them out!
I listened to Vincebus Eruptum by Blue Cheer in it's entirety earlier today, great album, great band, one of (if not the) first metal bands ever and one of the first metal albums ever. I don't know why I find this funny, but I bought it in Barnes and Noble of all places.
If Power Metal suits your taste then i would recommend the band named Jorn fronted by the vocalist Jørn Lande. Its a Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath and Bad Company inspired band from the southern parts of Norway with a wide variety in songs from power metal slugfests to slow powerballads.

They really are a fantastic band, I'm amazed at how nasty they could get their guitars to sound back then.
OutsideInside is also definitely worth a listen.
Since I randomly stumbled upon this thread now, here's something else I randomly stumbled upon recently. A book, mind you. Genre? Er, weird metal humor? Excerpts: , [url=http://www.steffmetal.com/at-war-with-satan-excerpt2/]2, 3.

As far as music goes, well, one of my most recent stumbles was AngelSeed. See or [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEuIzrxy8Bo]this. Probably doesn't exactly fit with recent posts, but uh well.

Oh yeah! Recently discovered Jorn. Quite awesome. Very Dio-esque.
