Just announced, KISS has purchased an AFL (Arena Football) team set to play in Los Angeles. I don't live anywhere near L.A. nor do I give so much as a rat's fart about California in general, but I AM SO loading up on gear for that franchise. I want hats, jerseys, t-shirts, posters! I only hope they make some of that stuff available; KISS has never been know for merchandising.

The linemen on that team better be sporting some good facepaint. If the QB gets hit, can we see him start puking up blood. They need to make Arena Football a good show...it's not like they get a lot of attention. I think I have a local AFL team, but I have never seen a game.

Are you discovering Pantera for the first time? If so check out Cowboys from Hell, Cemetary Gates , and the whole CfH Album.
Pantera is Heavy Metal

No I knew pantera, I just wanted to know what the song I posted genre is, but I did research its pure Groove Metal.

So recommend me some Groove Metal?

Not to keen on all the classifications myself. I know, Slayer is Thrash Metal, Cannibal Corpse is Death Metal, and Korn and like music is Nu Metal, but other than that no idea.

Groove Metal...that must be just the slow tempo Metal such as that. I can't imagine CfH was Groove Metal.

Try this Soulfly song, or maybe Sepultura's Chaos A.D. album. (although with heavy thrash/death influence)

I've been looking a bit into metal after I saw Black Sabbath on the 12th, though I must admit I'm not entirely adventurous. I really do not like the Black Metal, Death Metal, or really most songs that just have a guy screaming in a grungy voice with now actual melody going along. Suppose it's just my inclination towards rock music in general rather than what's the "hardest" sound.

While looking into it though, I found this link which I think is worth a look, despite it's flagrant inaccuracy (even to an outsider like me!).

WARNNG: BIGASS IMAGE BEHIND THIS LINK

It certainly gives some perspective on the whole idea of subgenres, no matter how misplaced some of them are. I find it an interesting one perspective on how each blends into one another, and maybe it'll give you a couple things to listen to for a bit ;)

I never got really into Death Metal too much (Mainly just Cannibal Corpse The Bleeding Album), but once I heard and saw Decapitated - Spheres of Madness video, I started liking it a lot more. Can't seem to find the original video I saw for this.

I have a hard time using Metal to describe those bands. Glam Rock is more what I like to call them.
