Bookwyrm627: Whereas we, on the other hand, tend to stay alive a little longer by looking like idiots, scum, or both. Speaking of which: I am SO very town. I definitely am not here to kill as many people as possible so I can make a bouncy castle from your bones before I move to the big city. Nope, not me.

Could you make a townie and me the last two to be mod-killed? I could win that way!
All I can say is wow, do you have a death wish? You leave the impression that you are wanting to kill as many people as possible and make a bouncy castle out of their bones, and then you go on to say the only way you can win is if you and a townie are the only two left, meaning you are not a townie but scum or a neutral of some sort.

First yogs starts with "let's discuss PMs and roles" and now you come in with a post that's even more scummy. Guess I should have just left my vote on you to start. As much as I would love to leave my vote on yogsloth I can not after your post.

Unvote yogsloth
Vote Bookwyrm

Perhaps wyrm's role is "Townie [Asylum Resident]"

Kryp's self-vote makes more sense now if one assumes Day one will last for days with plenty of time for feints, re-feints, re-re-feints and so on. In that light the more interesting thing about Kryp isn't that he voted for himself, but that all his posts are vague one-liners, and/or links to youtube clips.

Though perhaps his role is Townie [Goth Teen]. He's certainly not guilty of over-sharing so far.

Interesting. That is possibly the only way every single role could win the game (at least I can't think of an exception off-hand). It even allows for roles, such as Jester, who require another party to kill them in order to win. Bravo!

Ok, so take this with a grain of salt since apparently my reading comprehension in this game his been shiiiiiite so far, but I'm pretty sure the rules do say anyone mod killed loses, even if your faction ultimately prevails. So I'm not seeing how all roles would win there.

Wyrm's post is ambiguous, since in theory if he's in the last 2 and the other one is a townie, he wins either way. Since there's no majority to knock him off if he's scum, he's guaranteed to win that way, and if he's also a townie he wins with 2 surviving townies.

It would be more helpful to know if he wins if he's one of the final two and the other is scum.

But, in BookWyrm627's scenario, he wouldn't be modkilled; he and another town player would the only two left alive.

Correct. I believe that was the intent.

Obviously.

------------------

After reflecting, however, there might be certain cases where Bookwyrm627 could still lose, even given his mod-kill criteria. If the town player remaining with him has a kill power or a double vote, for example. This would require him to not be town aligned, however, since the game would end immediately if on two town players remained.

Oh well, still an interesting proposition though. :)
Now I'm completely confused. Time for bed. Sadly, I have a feeling I'm not going to be less confused in the morning...

This reminds me of the last game I played in, where someone had to ask Krypsyn whether he was trying to get lynched.

Guess I'll ask it now. Bookwyrm: Do you want to be lynched?
avatar
RWarehall: Bookwyrm: Do you want to be lynched?
No.

Bookwyrm627: No.
How do we know that's not just reverse psychology at work?
Wyrm going for an intriguing play there, some people jumping at him. Trent displayed the strongest reaction, a bit too strong I would say, but I've seen him take things really seriously (sometimes a bit too serious, but that's not a bad thing). Trent is being Trent and I like that. Feels natural.

Wyrm, more baiting, please!

Vitek: Meh, I will modkill you all tomorrow to make the game faster.

I feel so free.
Dread Pirate Vitek
I'm in agreement with dedo on trent. His actions are very reminiscent of other games I've played with him. Then again, I'm not quite sure (just yet) if I think that means he's leaning townie or is a scummy trent managing to act like a townie trent.

Also, I see no real reason why I should still be doing this, so I'm going to Unvote: bler144. From what I've seen bler is leaning towards clueless townie more than anything in my eyes. This is not, by the way, bler, a slight on your play, just more a general observation about how you've started off. I think most of us were a little lost when we first started playing forum mafia.

Yogsloth: Was that not the sort of information you were after then? What do you make of Sage's bafflement at our PMs stating that we left the town?

Lastly, I'd like to think that Bookwyrm's 'slip' was a way to bait everyone into reacting. Usually, I think, I would accusing him of being a Jester, but I seem to do that every game (with various people). So for now, I'm just going to conclude that this play, if it is baiting, is a little out of character for what I've seen from Bookwyrm.

Mod: Could we have a vote count before you modkill us?
It's time for your first regular scheduled votecount

Krypsyn – 3 – Krypsyn, bler, Bookwyrm
agentcarr – 1 – cristigale
Bookwyrm – 1 – trentonlf
cristigale – 1 – Leonard
CSPVG – 1 – Sage
dedoporno – 1 – flubbucket
empty bucket – 1 – Rwarehall
Yogsloth – 1 – JMich

not voting – 4 - agentcarr, dedoporno, yogsloth, CSPVG

Krypsyn is closest to lynch with 3 votes.

It's my first time in a long while so be gentle, please.
Direct all complaints to the Office for Faulty Votecounts. I am sure you will find the right people there to help you.
Bookwyrm slipped in his last statement when he said "Could you make a townie and me the last two...." he excluded himself from town. Only a scum or neutral would exclude themselves from being town, so pretty sure my vote is in the right place.
It does feel like Bookwyrm is deliberately trying to arouse suspicion. Could be a godfather looking for a cop investigation?
lol, I had a post ready last night, but forgot to actually post it :) Anyways...

bler144: At the 24 hour mark we get a faction to switch votes and knock out agentcarr who had been MIA.
Love your initiative dude. But hey, if I feel RL is going to be getting in my way, I'll get Vitek to send in some other player. No need to bother killing me :)

I figure that dedoporno and flubbucket are really just spouting nonsense while waiting for something important to happen. Trentonlf and yogsloth are like this every game, so I'm not surprised at their antagonistic postings. For the record, I would be leaning toward yogsloth's side, but I understand trentonlf's reasoning.

avatar
cristigale: *Most relevant question I have yet seen this game*
I'm a him.

avatar
Bookwyrm627: I wonder if anyone remembers...
I was actually trying to forget that...

Anyway, I'll be waiting here for something important to happen...
I feel like it might not take long.
