tinyE: I can't go anywhere else because regardless of how many fuck-ups they have, GOG is still way better than anything else out there.

MarkoH01: Of course they are. I never wnated to critizize them completely - just in this case. In fact I am hoping that maybe one of the persons responsible will step down and post here that they are aware of the problems

Yeah no shit. I will say after all of this, if they aren't aware of the problems, then Galaxy is the least of our worries. :P
shit my quotes are all screwed up, but I'm pretty sure that's my fault and I'm way too tired to retype that, :P

MarkoH01: Since the new account system (NAS)
So THAT'S what NAS stands for! Doh! :D

I kinda agree that now it is sometimes harder to understand which games are part of the same "series" or somehow related. For some titles this had something to do with the recent unbundling, but I guess with some it is about the naming of titles.

I never used the manual sorting option though, as it wouldn't help me to make the connection with the games after I have downloaded them (only when I am looking at my non-downloaded games on the account). Maybe I am hoping some kind of renaming of some files so that it is more apparent they belong together.

Still, not overall a biggie for me, just making a bit harder to remember things.

MarkoH01: Steam is much bigger (so this can be expected) and much more unfriendly and incompetent regarding support (my experience).

Primo_Victoria: If GOG is not big enough to keep up, just have a simpler setup that just works. This is an ugly mess and I hate it.
You are new (welcome :)) so you cannot know it but before the new account system and Galaxy they HAD a simpler approach and it mostly worked. They now decided that they'd have to change a lot ifd they wanted to stay in competition. Obviously they wanted to change a bit much too fast so everything seems to be broken right now. So it is no wonder that you hate it - you are not alone. It is sad because every new member will now first see how "broken" GOG is and not how perfect they are on the inside.

It is not just that - the sort order simply is wrong in several franchises. You have listed part 4,3,1,2 in some of them. That is no order - it's chaos!

Understandable since your main concern seem to download the games and be finished with it. That is perfectly valid. But seeing so many users having a collection bigger than anything you could play in a lifetime and seeing so many entrys in the community wishlist demanding their good looking bookshelfes back, I saw the average GOGer more like an collector who likes to present his collection. Maybe it's just me who is that way (which also would explain why it is so quiet regarding the sort order) and I was wrong seeing it this way. Maybe I am in the minority. Anyway my opinion does not change bacause of this.

Did the site have colours too? This feels like a blackout in opposition to SOPA or something.

Most people expected the lack of features on GOG Galaxy since its still in Beta, but we didn't know the new "My Account" and the Chat replacing PM would be forcing us to be involuntary beta testers as well. I think they should add half-baked in brackets on the Account section text.
"Soon" means "You will still be alive when it happens".

But given the average age of GOG customers, that's still a pretty narrow time frame.

The new My Account is vastly superior to the previous, since the features actually work in list view instead of the godawful shelf view. The only downside is the lack of the "GOG Downloader" links being there without going thirty mouse clicks deep.

I was hoping for a "last updated" sort order, too. But it's not critical.

That, and get rid of the useless pagination! Put it all on one page, damn it.

Removing manual sorting is the biggest fuck-up GOG.com has ever done, at least in my opinion. It completely broke the library, and I'm still angry about that.

I don't share your optimism.

Me neither.

Yes, a less bold statement would have been "You will still be alive in someone's memories when it happens"

Potzato: "You will still be alive in someone's memories when it happens"
Wait, who amongst us is ?

Wait yourself, are you implying I should fire up my ICQ to notify people I still exist ?
Oh shit, the thread just got surreal!

There was a bit more colour in it and they changed it - but I really cannot remember the reason for this anymore.

I'm not that mean, I never implied that they'd deserve that.
