Randalator: "tinyBuild is a decent publisher."

*continues to detail how they are anything but*

omega64: I mean they are. On Steam at least. Decent size I guess with how many games they've published?
Who cares about how many games they have published. I agree with Randalator and would call such behaviour and therefore the publisher itself anything but decent. In fact this thread put them for me on the "don't buy anything published by them and warn everybody about them" list.

Successful =/= decent. :P

Randalator: GOG should remove their catalogue and refuse further business with them.
Like I said: I agree!

So pirates get the current build while GOG customers get an obsolete version and the stated reason is ... fear of piracy.
That is either incredibly dumb or incredibly dishonest.

I did specifically mean the size in the top post there. Sorry. :P

You probably should edit the OP to prevent further misunderstandings :)

If they don't trust their paying customers, then I don't think I can trust them to buy their games.

It's been proven again and again that DRM doesn't stop piracy.

Done. ;)
As mentioned in the OP, GOG has been contacted regarding this unfortunate exchange. For obvious reasons, they can't keep us updated on their business relations, so all we can do is wait.

I just made that to allow anyone who feels similarly to me to express that to GOG. Just in case they weren't sure if we were bothered. Think of it as a survey.

Lack of recent patches doesn't need to equal to buggy experience and bug free doesn't always mean fun and bug ridden game can still be enjoyable.

Would you rather see drm-free version of your favorite game, even if it has couple of bugs, or fully patched bug free DRM-encrypted game?
I think I feel what you feel, but the right first step is to negotiate and try to talk sense into them. Burning bridges is what you do after other options have been exhausted.

Fair point. :) Didn't mean to sound dismissive there.
GOG as a business should really care about this sort of thing, but letting them know their customers certainly do care is a good idea.

To be fair, I did try talking - their stance seemed pretty clear. Either way, hopefully GOG knows what to do, and maybe they'll be more successful than I!

I'm all for blacklisting that publisher. The outright contempt towards GOG customers is pretty disgusting.
