As stated i'm leaving the forums after being here for 8 years, i've enjoyed my time and contributed the best that i can but to cut a long story short i can't tolerate insults. I'm a sub contract developer and have been since 1993 and creating games and content since 1984 but because of one person i feel completely insulted.

I had a meeting today at work and posted comments from the person here on the forums and my staff laughed at reading them, that pretty much sumned up my views of large parts of today's gaming community but it's broken the back i once enjoyed. I love GOG as a platform and will still buy and play games here but the rest has to go so i say bye.

Myself and my company will be seen ay Gamescom as we do a lot of Retro & Trade events and engaging with real fans and signing free artwork because that's what i like to do but the rest no longer means anything, best of luck to you all.

Thanks for the memories !!

All I did was PM you a pic of a Xenomorph Pez dispenser.

I hope that wasn't the reason.

No none at all, thanks.
I know this forum isn't perfect but what community is ? I can't think of a single one since all of them have a few bad apples here and there but if engaging with the community is something you enjoy then why not put up/ignore those few who try to ruin it and interact with the rest, however if you don't care at all then i can certainly understand why it might be the better desicion to leave.

Your OP make it seem like it's only a single person who's annoying among how many members of GOG ? and you shouldn't let that person ruin it for you.

If you still decide to leave then goodbye and have fun/better experiences with your future endeavors.

I think there are also many good, friendly and kind hearted people here on the GOG forums. My personal experience is so.

However, it is you decision after all.

Sorry to see you go, but I can certainly understand where you're coming from...

I would agree with you in principle, but is it just a few bad apples these days or is it half the barrel? I have a feeling these forums have been getting and keep getting worse, and at one point you can either choose to leave or develop a high disregard of what other people are saying to/about you.

The door is always welcome if you ever wish to return good soul. I'm sorry someone's actions have resulted in your decision, the journey to improving the forums is admittedly slow, but hopefully if/when you return, you'll find it in a better state.

Maybe this?

Who knows, with these cryptic "somebody said/did something I didn't like so I'm off, bye" threads...

There are plenty of good people about and GOG has been fairly good considering, many thanks

Seriously? The dude tried to advocate for Denuvo in the heart of community that proclaims DRM-free policy the highest value and was upset by people reaction. Shouldn't he have known better?

I have seen a lot of people argue and adding a few jabs here and there but it's still rarely anything i personally would consider to be outright cruel or very insulting however my view is just that MY view and other people is going to experience it differently or be more sensitive towards some posts.

In the end though i firmly believe if i enjoy interacting with people and scouring forum for game news then yes i think it's worth ignoring those who are negatively affecting it to not let them win and instead stay for the positives.

Personally i wouldn't leave because people i can't even respect are hurling half assed insult at me, no screw them.

EDIT: I just read the thread Muntdefems linked and if that's the thread you mean then i can't really point to anything i consider worth leaving the forum over or anything insulting anyway i absolutely despise Denuvo myself.

No, i gave my personal experience but others out there just make things up as fact and that was the problem.

Same here, though I can also understand anyone who decides to stay away from it all. Unfortunately a lot of good people from "back in the day" just aren't around any more.

If this is indeed it, I agree OP is overreacting a bit. These forums are open to people of all ages, maturity levels etc. and talking about a sensitive topic such as DRM is bound to irk some people and occasionally cause exaggerations just to get their views across. TBH, I thought his reaction was caused by a personal attack.

I hate Denuvo too, but nevertheless we should hate it for the right reasons and blame it for what it does, not what it doesn't do.
