For those who want to replay the first three games of the series, AGD Interactive has three good remakes with improved visuals and gameplay, and they're completely free:

 ▪  King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown
 ▪  King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones
 ▪  King's Quest III: To Heir is Human

Bump.
Stones, actually, not Throne :D
Also, The Quest for Infamy guys (Infamous Adventures) made a KQ3 game as well.
Personally, I never quite liked any of the KQ3 remakes (or the original, really).

zavlin: So without further ado, to celebrate these successful beginnings i want to give away FOUR copies of the first episode on steam to would-be adventurers. To enter simply post here and a drawing will be held 1 week from today. In the (unlikely) event that the game becomes available on gog before the drawing, then gog keys will be an option. Feel free to also post thoughts on adventure games youve played lately.
Adventure onwards!
WOW Thank you for this epiclly wonderful GA!! +1!!!

I am NOT in as I fought a battle with myself over to buy or not to buy and to buy won. =D

We need Colonel's Bequest here! (as for newer games Ill have to edit this tomorrow as my mind is not working and its time for bed. )
Four? Very nice of you, zavlin, thanks!

I am definitely in!

I haven't had much time as of late to work on any of my backlogged games, but the last one I remember playing might have been the time travel adventure series Journeyman Project series. I highly recommend it!
awesome!

I'm in! Thank you & +1! :D

I'm hearing a lot of good things for it!
Not in, but +1. Really generous giveaway.

I've played two adventure games recently. One was Face Noir by Mad Orange, and it was... awful. Bland, tedious, nonsensical, badly written. Somehow, even the backgrounds were a mess--they're almost all poorly angled, and most of them are zoomed out to the point that you can't reliably find anything. Only the hamhanded "show interaction point" feature keeps it from being completely unplayable. The game doesn't have a real ending, either. There's just a cliffhanger and sequel tease. I didn't go into Face Noir expecting much, and I got even less.

The other one was Agapan by Kursed Studios, and it's one of the best games I've played in years. Everything about it is gorgeous and well-put-together. I'd recommend reading as little about it as possible in advance, because it relies a lot on mystery and suspense.
Bump.
Thank you for the wonderful and surprising giveaway! Surprising, because I didn't know that a new King's Quest existed :). The last adventure I played was Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle.
Wow, I'm definitely in. King's Quest 5 on CD-ROM is the first PC game (not counting shareware) that I can remember purchasing for myself, after saving up my allowance and getting the go-ahead from my parents. I played 6, then when it came out 7, then went back and played the earlier games... never played 8 on its release, and from what I hear, We Do Not Speak of Number 8, so...

This new one looks like a lot of fun, I haven't played a KQ game in a while!
This is an awesome and generous giveaway! Please, count me in.

I love adventure games as I grew up on them, starting with the good old "verb-noun" genre.

The most recent adventure game I've played was Anna's Quest --haven't finished it yet, but got well past the first act.

babark: Stones, actually, not Throne :D
Fixed, thanks!  ;-)

King's Quest II: Romancing The Stones is a remake of King's Quest II: Romancing the Thone. It shares the same story, but has additional locations and characters, and it's also known as King's Quest II+.
Thanks for this nice giveaway, Zavlin! Count me in, please.

I love adventure games, yesterday I finished Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and I really enjoyed it. It's an amazing game, with multiple paths to complete it, a great plot which is as interesting and fun as the Indy movies, and very good puzzles. And the music is also fantastic! I recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it yet, and likes adventure games.

+Rep ^^
I'm in.
Still doubtful this will be anywhere near the original series (especially 5 & 6), but since I've been (re)doing the whole Sierra catalog for a few months I'm quite curious about this one.

I'm in. thanks!
I've played few adventure games in the last months (work and all), except for The Wolf Among Us, which, as I am both a Telltale and a Fables fan, was pretty good, if a little light on actual interaction. I'm planning to go through the Blackwell Series and The Longest Journey/Dreamfall/Dreamfall Chapters in the near future, though!
