F4LL0UT: Agreed. It's kinda hard to believe that they didn't instantly include the ability to simply add any user whose name you know via the "friends" page. That's just silly even for GOG standards.

What baffles me more is the new people's urgency to add specific people, though. What for? Are they all going to play AvP 2000 and Double Dragon together?

No, this is gog being obtuse as always, they released galaxy in a terrible state (having to post on gog to add friend is DUMB), their forum structure is terrible and they only moved their ass a few days before TW3 was released and their half ass solution was to move old threads into the gog basement.

Since their forum structure is dumb, people (also dumb) assume that gog = The Witcher 3 therefore general discussion is everything related to TW3.

And i still want to know who the fuck is the community manager since he doesn't do shit and we keep being ignored...

Edit: And yes, i'm aware that galaxy is in beta or whatever, the point is that people want to add their friends (for no reason other than they can) so that leads to the tons of spam on this forum.

a lot of it is due to the find friend function cause they cant add from typing a name they are posting comments so the other can find them. It will end soon, It was all the witcher 3 that caused this LOL

Breja: Honestly the forum is completely FUBAR right now. It's all pointless "friend me" threads, threads about the Witcher 3 that should be in the game's forum and threads about Galaxy. I cannot for the life of me understand why GOG gives a negative amount of fucks about the forum. This really is not that comlplicated. Move the Witcher threads to the game's subforum, make a subforum for Galaxy and move all of it's shit and the "friend" shit there. Maybe instead of messing up our librarys they could have devoted some of that time to making sure the forum is usable.

That was actually GOG's original plan for the Galaxy implementation: a single never-ending live chat. A steamy stream of rambunctiousness free from the constraints of PM's, threads, archives, subforums, links etc.
