CD Projekt is a business. It's their job to make money. They can make more money on their storefront by broadening their selection, which includes offering newer games. Yes, it kind of defeats what GOG literally stands for, but those day are gone. At least GOG still offers all of their games DRM free. Besides, their dedication to DRM free gaming means that their newer game selection is limited. It's not like all the older stuff is getting buried under a constant flow of new titles.

Maybe they mean me...
I'm actually just a cardboard cutout.

While the data hasn't been updated to cover last year (and probably won't be), this post still covers the first 9+ years of GOG's existence, and shows pretty clearly that there hasn't been any sustained trend toward significantly fewer older games. (This is going by the "10+ years old" definition, not by the "pre-2K" one -- of which there are obviously a finite supply of reasonably obtainable games whose re-release would be likely to give GOG a positive return on investment.)

Also, pretty much all of this is still as true as ever.

No way!

Hey leontas2007. I like old games too. Which ones are we talking about? And do you necessarily have to get them on GOG?
an easy fix would allow customers to tailor their store page to display the way they want, put on top game genres, news, wishlist or whatever floats your boat and pin it. original store page would then be shuffled lower on display out of view unless you want to see. no need for customers to plough thru tons of clumsy ads, sales ptiches for games we have no interest in or imo uselses influencer reviews. the OP could then have his store home page tailored to show old games on top and be better able to ignore whatever he wants.

as for the qstn of pure GoG, its a business. if they make money then they stay in business and allow me to pick what games i want from their growing library. i dont know any other store fronts that specialize only in old titles

leontas2007: Hello.

I don't really check the community tab and I don't write often. I am here on gog for the "good old games"

So is it me or gog is not gog anymore. I mean yes new games, I am ok with that, gog is my favorite platform, not that I play new games but having an option is not bad.

Now why you have to abandon the old fanbase which came here for the older games. I see on wishlist so many great games, and gog is doing nothing. The first game that I remember seeing here that was new and blew me away was Withcer 3. I said why?!?!?! I wasn't mad, I just said, new games here huh? cool.

Now I only see new games. New releases yeah ok who cares? I don't want to disrespect people that are here for the new games. Ok you like new games and this is not bad... bbbbbbbbut! this site used to be a place for people who liked old to ancient games. You can hate old games all you want, its perfectly fine, you don't see what we see...

So is there anyone still here you still waits for gog to release some old gems?

EDIT: I see. I don't remember forums being so toxic. I mean I had so say all this shit " its ok to like new game" and blablalbabal only so I can say that I want old games back, and now I have braindead people post braindead comments.
Now I am waiting for other cancerous people to come and be offended about real braindead people.
They still release old games, not sure what you are talking about. We have some this year already and it's a new year still. Some might take more time due to license issues or having publishers cooperate, etc
No true GOG user plays new games!
The GOG team brought back quite a few LucasArts games recently, so I don't feel like they've abandoned anything of the sort.
Nope, they all left the site and joined Ultra Good Old games.

personally i hate games I like erm............. Jigsaws

what!

I spent 6 hours on this 9 piece jigsaw today. It was a cat
The forums are just full of all kinds of posers who pretend to like old games (tm), but in reality, just hang around as a failed attempt to impress moss bearded gurus, who have died of heart attacks ages ago with no-one noticing.
