Popcorn is so old... Better nachos with chili sauce and melted yellow cheese... Tastes better, is the ultimate movie snack!

BranjoHello: That video is a perfect example of how easily it is to implant an opinion in people's mind nowadays.
Average gamer (not to be confused with "average casual gamer") doesn't give a shit about 99% of things that guy is talking about, but when it's presented to you (so thoroughly) all of suddenly it seems soooo important.

Alesh91: The onyl thing that seems really annoying is the sound and to certain extent lighting issues he described. It seemed like a rather pointless nitpicking otherwise.
EDIT: Oh and the controls sound odd, too, but I guess it is jsut a case of gettiong used to it.
So, just the bloom overkill that ruins the atmosphere, the sound that is somehow much worse than in the original and a new control scheme that isn't clearly better than the original.

Yeah, that guy is really just ranting, what a bunch of unimportant shit no one cares about, eh? I mean, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed atmosphere or sound in a game. And controls? No one even uses those things anymore, all my games play themselves!

phaolo: He's a bit nit-picking, but I could agree that some changes seem worse, like some animations, the overall less dark setting or the different ending song.
I usually stick to the original classics anyway: remakes could be just an optional bonus for me.
The thing is for me is this is the kind of review I like. Because I do that. I nitpick. I analyze endlessly. Everything is an analysis to me, so the things that would pass someone else by would hit me like a sledgehammer. That's why I like design, because all the little decisions go into making a product a winner, or not.
The reviewer is basically saying they skimped on the little details, and it shows in the bigger picture. The analysis of the billboards and advertising is exactly from game to game is exactly the sort of analysis I would have done, and I concur with his conclusions.
I'd still want to get New 'n' Tasty, but now I'd only do so from a huge sale markdown price. I'll stick with the originals, and thank him very much!

The analysis/review was made before the release of this patch. Admittedly, this doesn't make his review wrong, but just outdated.

Only the control part of his review is outdated. Admittedly, it was a big part, but the rest of the stuff - the nitpicking - seems to be alright. ;)

I know and that's why I quoted the "control" part of the post. ;)

D'oh! So you did! :)

darthspudius: You keep saying 'we' like you're a representative of this community. I hate to point this out to your naive little self but I have been using GOG and this community a good bit longer than you. So talk for yourself and not others.

So what extra money are you talking about? Last I saw it was the same price on several different distribution websites including Steam. People like you are doing a brilliant job in taking the fun out of gaming just as much as those idiots who worship Valve.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Ok. If that makes you happier, replace "we" with "I". I seriously doubt that, though, that other people aren't accustomed to being treated to customer friendly deals around here, but if you believe they aren't, i won't spoil it for you...

The extra money i am talking about is the upcoming DLCs. They WON'T be given out for free, correct? They are going to be charged extra. That is what i meant. So, until it is one package under the same beneficial to the buyer price, *ME* (instead of we as you kindly requested), and certainly some other people, AREN'T going to rush into buying it.

And for the tenth or twentieth time already, we have both been enjoying GoG games from the same time period as the one *you* were registered in here...
It IS collected in one package with a nice price, it is called "The Pre-order"

http://www.gog.com/news/preorder_oddworld_new_n_tasty

"If you pre-order, you'll also receive two pieces of New 'n' Tasty DLC for free:
-Bonus level: Alf's Escape
-Alternative costume: Scrub Abe"

Two pieces of HOW MANY pieces that are going to come? How many DLCs? Complete edition or nothing!
I'd say wait for a better price. Since you're a fan of the originals, the change in pace and gameplay might be interesting to check out at some point but I don't think it's worth the asking price.

Right as rain! You got that right! Plus, this game ruined the chance for Muchee's Odyssey HD to come in PC before! Grrr

What's your fascination with Munch's Odyssey? That game runs perfectly fine and looks good as it is.

Simple... Munchee's Odyssey is in STEAM, not GoG. If the HD version was out, GoG would have brought it, as with Stranger's Wrath HD!!! That, and munchee's odyssey normally had priority, until they suddenly froze it to get that goddamned, dlc/preorder-ridden, bloody remake, instead!
