Is it?
I love the original games and still play them from time to time on my PS1
No, but Pop-Tarts are.

Damn, that title is so wrong. It just makes me think of some kind of yummy pre-packaged and processed microwavable breakfast treat.

Coming soon to GOG-groceries... it's New-&-Tasty sugar bombs! Less DRM, more awesome FLAVOR! Your taste buds can't withstand flavor of that magnitude! Pre-order now!

Anything with a protagonist named Abe is worth getting.

I remember trying to play one of the earlier games (on the xbox) and it just seemed... silly... I don't think i ever got past the first level.

I'm not sure if my opinion will color your interest...

From where I come from that would be ANT-agonist. Damn'd blue-belly proto-gonists.

Even if someone made a game from Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

That video is a perfect example of how easily it is to implant an opinion in people's mind nowadays.
Average gamer (not to be confused with "average casual gamer") doesn't give a shit about 99% of things that guy is talking about, but when it's presented to you (so thoroughly) all of suddenly it seems soooo important.

The onyl thing that seems really annoying is the sound and to certain extent lighting issues he described. It seemed like a rather pointless nitpicking otherwise.
EDIT: Oh and the controls sound odd, too, but I guess it is jsut a case of gettiong used to it.

Yep, the only think I don't like from the first look are the "aggressive" flashy commercials.

Nah, thing is, the game plays on nostalgia - and what I remember the most about Abe games was the amazing sound design. After seeing the linked vid and not quite believing what has been said... Yeah, it's different. I have no clue whether it's actually better or worse, but it's different, for a game which I just wanted to play as a precise copy and facelift of the original. I also had no idea they changed the camera to dynamic angle, which is bleh.
