UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.
Wow, man. I saw a post in Community with the same concept which is GOG's now ACTUALLY doing, but I thought it is kinda bad joke, won't be happening. But see what's going on. Even if it's just 23 games(until now), time limited, still really Impressive. I think I'm gonna fall in love with GOG. Thanks people, for doing all the things for us.
So is Trine 3 worth it for the price? Have the bugs been fixed?
It doesn't work for me. I have one day waiting for games to be connected: Unreal, Trine and others, but still nothing happens. -_-"
GOG isn't working with Valve; you as the user are giving GOG access to your Steam library information. If I understand this correctly, GOG could in theory make your entire Steam library available on GOG, but they aren't doing this without the permission of publishers. Valve may be powerless to stop this unless...

jamyskis: 2. ... You may not present the Steam Data (or permit the Steam Data to be presented) so that it appears (a) that your Application is endorsed or affiliated with Valve or Steam, or (b) to be available from a third party. ... (in and of itself a problem because GOG doesn't make clear that this isn't a joint venture between Valve and GOG - we're left to assume that based on our understanding of how the Steam Web API works)
If the use of GOG Connect is interpreted as a violation of the terms of use we may be opening ourselves up to being banned from Steam. Perhaps GOG Connect is too good to be true.

Making a profile page public isn't against the TOS. That's all any user is doing. GOG is reading the profile pages and using that to update its system. It's not reproducing Steam's data or claiming that Valve endorses this.

I can't see any reason for Steam to get upset, and even if for some reason they did go on a power trip there's nothing in the TOS against this.

My problem still persists - can't even log in my steam account to start the connection... This is maddening.
My games finally got added yesterday. Thanks gog! I still don't like the very short 5 day window you get to do this. It's a weird promotion. If it's a money thing, I think I'd like a permanent discount on Steam-owned games better.
It took mine a while to connect. I left it overnight, and when I came back to the site to check the next day, I had 9 eligible games waiting for me! Thanks GOG! :)

That's what I did, and then I got this message "YOUR ACCOUNTS ARE BEING CONNECTED
Due to exceedingly high demand, processing the queue may take up to several days. Don't worry, you will be able to add your games regardless of the wait. You can close this page now. Return later to manually add the games to your library." and this on I got this message on Thursday Morning and still says the by the way and I am still wait for it to be "CONNECTED" Even though only one game I have is on that list and that would be "VVVVVV"

Okay, I have one silly question... I have some steam keys in my Humble account of games that I would prefer to have on GOG (and that I still don't have, since I can't afford buying multiple times the same game). I always wanted to avoid Steam and never used or installed it, but paradoxically, it seems that I should create one account to redeem my keys, to finally connect steam to gog and have the few games I would like here on GOG.
What should I do ? Create a Steam account, or wait for the day this kind of operation could happen with Humble ? (May be I shouldn't even wonder about all of this and well, too bad for the games I've on Humble... Maybe one day I'll be able to have them on GOG too)
Edit : And can you create a steam account without installing Steam client ?

I don't really like the idea that my Steam account would be connected to my GOG account once and for all, without any way to revoke the decision. I mean, I understand that this is probably a measure to prevent abuse on the part of the GOG customers, but as someone who always appreciated GOG's policy of storing as few personal information as possible, somehow this gives me shivers. What about potential abuse on the part of e.g. hackers? Am I just paranoid, or is there a certain risk to it?

Also, my apologies if this has been brought up before (and I'm sure that's the case), I just didn't know how to search for it in a 70+ pages thread.

It's not that the two accounts are actually linked in any real way (the Steam account still won't know or care of the existence of the GOG account); It's solely for the purpose of the GOG Connect function. Apparently, your Steam user name is about the only sensitive part of your Steam account credentials that GOG could actually store. Or something.
Seriously, there have been A LOT of replies to read, so good luck finding the details. But I'm sure someone knowledgeable about this will be happy to explain it again. :)

Not speaking from experience, as I do not have a steam account, but from comments earlier in this thread from people in the same situation as you, I understand that you must install the client in order to redeem keys.

You can...but apparently you can only redeem key codes in the client. So, if you want to redeem those, you'll have to suck it up and temporarily install Steam anyway. :(
