Its listed as "currently in development." What does that mean for this particular game? Is it content complete?

It means there is a good amount of content available now while more stuff will be added with future patches until it's not in development anymore.

lea2501: No linux installer? why? before the release the 3 operating systems where listed, will it come later?
I was just planning to buy the game but noticed the same thing. What's going on? I'll wait until the release I guess.
I'll let y'all know how this will run on my potato.
Probably on low ass settings.

Thanks. Usually early access games list what is and is not finished. I don't know why this game doesn't have that. It should.

Linko64: The comment you were groping and tickling was made about lack of FPS tag to easily find FPS, a very popular genre within the GOG userbase. Click on the store page. :)

HunchBluntley: FPP + shooter = FPS ;)
I'd rather have it this way. One should be able to search for games with a particular view perspective without having to differentiate between action/shooter and...well, not-action. The only problem I have with GOG's "genre" tag system is that it only allows up to three per game.
FPS is the generalization of the old "doom-like" and depicts both the camera type and the main gameplay mechanic.

Genres are just that, genres, and they can change with time and people's opinions.

There was mention on the official forums that the other 2 builds of the game had a lot of bugs/issues so they canceled the other 2 'for now' they said at a later time the other 2 will be released, just not at launch unfortunately.

Thanks. Sounds good, I don't mind waiting.

If you still like the game as a whole and the Idea behind it, I would support them and get the game so whenever the time comes you will have the builds. I have a feeling the price might go up after the early development status goes away.

I usually avoid early access buying. Such kind of approach suits better for crowdfunding.

Swissy88: Yeah, you don't get it. If you search for "Shooter" games, you get many (mostly) that aren't first person. If you search FPP, you get games like Myst and other non shooter games. [...]
Which is why you search for both at the same time.

Of course, searching/filtering by multiple genre tags on GOG is stupidly restrictive (just like their 3-tags-per-game limit), unintuitive and broken, but those are different problems from the issue of what tags to use...though, admittedly, it's made relevant by the fact that using "FPP" + "action" + "shooter" uses up the entirety off the allotted tags.
Still, assuming GOG had a better system for searching by genres/tags, I'd much rather have to tick two or three boxes (or whatever system they'd theoretically implement) at once to find all the games that could be classified as "FPS", rather than have to do two or more separate searches to find all the first-person games (action and not, shooter and not) overall.

Of course, if they allowed up to, say, ten genre tags, they could use all the current ones PLUS "FPS", PLUS "sci-fi", PLUS up to five more, and we'd all be happy*. But that would be almost as crazy an idea as search results sorted by "alphabetical" that were actually, y'know, alphabetical.

*For certain definitions of "all" and "happy".

I don't care how some subset of people uses the term. The "S" in "FPS" stands for "shooter". No Myst game is a shooter, therefore it is not an FPS.

Some wiggle room is often useful in terminology -- especially regarding art and entertainment. But if terms are misused until they lose all hard boundaries, then you no longer have any meaningful, unambiguous terms to use when you really want or need them. (See every discussion involving "RPGs" and "roguelikes" for the last several years.)

I don't want to derail the thread longer, so I won't post any more about this here.

I know right? I just finished the early access demo on GOG and was blown away with the effort that was put into this game. I cant wait to see the finished product when it comes out. It feels like what Doom 3 could have been it they kept the formula and graphics moderation updated with pixel style.

Solid 10/10 gameplay
