Block'hood, a relaxing neighborhood-builder with minimalistic artstyle, is available now for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Apartment complexes are the building blocks of a well-functioning neighborhood and neighborhoods are the building blocks of entire cities. If you were given all the necessary tools, would you manage to create an ecologically sound network of tenements that would never run out of resources and fall into decay? What would its inhabitants be like? Only one way to find out.

Aptly named Plethora-Project decided to provide players with a plethora of tiles and give them access to over 90 building blocks, challenging them to come up with interesting combinations and spawn unique neighborhoods with varying degrees of functionality. As they absorb player feedback and continue to improve the current features, Plethora-Project also work on implementing the most ambitious one yet: the population module. Once available, it will flood your pristine-looking neighborhoods with simulated people, challenging you to discover the building combinations that will attract the most unique tenants.

Build the coolest, most efficient, and long-lasting neighborhoods in the whole Block'hood, DRM-free on GOG.com.

doesn't look like a game I'd play... certainly not worth a "in development" purchase for me.

Edit - I am playing Talos Principle right now on "that other site"... It's a nice Devolver game I believe.

Looks ok actually. Kind of reminds of SimTower (which for some bizarre reason, isn't on GoG yet)

I think I'll pick it up a bit later though. Still working through Shardlight and Lethis at the moment

Looks like a decent game, but I wish we could get Devolver to get Croteam to bring Serious Sam 2, SS3, Talos Principle, etc. here instead. :-P

why should tfishell know about it?

Impaler26: I wouldn't even buy crap like Block'hood for 20 cents in a bundle. Looks like the gates have been opened for shovelware at GOG. :/
Why? It looks like an interesting business sim
Development Sim meets... Fez?

More like Sim Tower meets Kenny G. or... Enya ;P

Depends if it has any depth. Wait for someone else to take the plunge and see if it's any good I guess

Because I know it all!!! >:-D

Except for that. I don't know, other than a lot of GOGgers are unhappy.

EndreWhiteMane: Best thing would be to get people to vote for it on the wishlist, I just did.

This is why i wouldn't trust in Devolver . I think they only use the Gog userbase as a guinea pig .

" Let's see how many of them buy this game before we stop the support of the non-Steam version .
Do you want the newest patch for our games ? Buy them ( again ) on Steam . "

I'm playing this now if anyone wants an early impression.

Game has a very strong Anno vibe, in that you have to carefully balance production chains for a dozen different resources while building paths to keep everything physically accessible. In sandbox mode you start with all 96 blocks available, which feels terrifyingly open-ended, but there are tutorials and challenges where you need to fulfill a simple goal with a more focused selection of blocks.

Placing and deleting blocks is free, which means you can just plop things down and experiment without worrying too much about the stability of your chain. The game clearly shows you which resources are booming or dwindling, and there are toggles to colorize your buildings based on productivity, accessibility, etc. So you won't ever get confused, although you'll definitely feel overwhelmed sometimes.

It doesn't have a very strong personality yet, which is predictable for a beta, but the game's aesthetic suggests that may be intentional. I think the sheer variety of different blocks is the main source of charm right now.

Another piece of early acces/paid beta testing crap.

Shane on the developer, shame on GOG.com and shame on those who buy into this shit
What would an InDev game release thread do, without robertgg's regular "shame" post...?
