Cleidophoros: All of those bundles just keep recycling games; how many times Humble Bundle offered same games as bonuses or otherwise? I am pretty sure Bastion has been in a previous Humble Bundle.
Sucks to be the indie developer who doesn't know bundle people.
Yeah, but this seems to be more like a store promo, not really related to the bundles, although it works the same way. The Humble Store only has a limited range of games and a lot of them have been part of one of their bundles before. Not that interesting for most people who've closely followed the bundles, but maybe others will appreciate. I know that a reappearance of Aquaria as a Humble sale would make at least one person who frequents these forums incredibly happy. ;)
I didn't like bastion, I tried 3 times and I was bored out of my mind. The narrator is neat and all but the rest really didn't do it for me.
This is excellent.. gives new buyers like me a chance to get hold of games from old bundles... instant buy for me :D... Me Happy :D

It's the same thing yeah. And it's not only Humble, other Bundles also recycle the games. IndieRoyale did it recently for example.
But my main point is that there are many more indies games out there which don't get the chance to be in a bundle.
And someone else in this thread mentioned IndieGameStand, that Humble Weekly sales would kill it; I do agree to some point. The more we buy Humble Bundle and less other bundles we will have less indie games featured.

This is a very nice move by Humble if this helps them in not putting repeat games in bundles and still give gamers a chance to grab some old gems from their bundles..

It might not effect IndieGameStand that much cause the style of games that both of them put up are very different...I don't believe I have seen a game on IndieGameStand that has ever been in Humble Bundle.. ...unless ...mm..

not good news for the indie market.nigs will be ok.hib never takes chances with new indie games anymore
While I doubt I'll get that particular game, to me this model is actually much more appealing than their Bundles themselves. I rather have the option to buy a game I may be really interested in than buying a bunch of them of which 90% will never get played.

Well, and my main point is that this isn't a bundle but a promo for the Humble Store. ;) I know about the repeats in other bundles and I agree that they are a wasted opportunity to spotlight lesser known indie games, but this is different, IMO, because it's not a bundle. It's as if you'd complain that most of GOG's gem or weekend promos do not spotlight new games but are just discounts on titles that have probably been discounted before. The way I see it, the goal of this event is not to promote good indie games in general, but to promote the Humble Store and its restricted "family". (And as a sidenote, HIB has been about repeats for a long time; they used to add the previous bundle as a bonus to the current one; and they weren't exactly known for promoting the underdogs either - that should have been the responsibility of Indie Royale and similar bundles, which I admit have been a bit lacking recently.)

Anyway, how can these promos put IndieGameStand in danger, if they are just boring repeats that hardly anyone's interested in anymore? I bet the people who take an interest in IndieGameStand - a niche crowd, I'd assume, even though I'm part of it - couldn't care less about these Humble Store promos as long as IndieGameStand still offers different and lesser known games.

Nice, a "merchandise" tier. Haven't played Bastion yet, so not this time, but I'd sure go for some adventure game swag.
I imagine it will be a little harder to convince people to buy your indie game, knowing that it might be available on the Humble Store for $1 some time in the future.
Interestingly the top contributor so far for this one is IndieGameStand with $151.

Fictionvision: The market being flooded with bundles and promotions will lead to buyer fatigue and disinterest. Also, and I admit to being guilty of it, people try to keep up with them and eventually realize they have bought so many cheap games that they will never get around to playing them all. So people become less willing to buy the next thing that comes along as they know it will likely sit on the hard drive and never be played.
Game overlap is a growing problem too. With the increasing number of bundles you wind up with bundles featuring games that have already been in other bundles, giving less incentive to buy them.

An olive branch?
A challenge?
A mind game?

Or perhaps cheap advertising? :P

You must be one of the 1% of buyers who dont have their games ;)
im part of that 1% who missed this on humble bundle before (was it a BTA game or something)(ive missed loads of these things).

this is great news if some of their other titles pop up weekly and i can get them DRM-free off humblebundle for $0.01

hopefully DRM-free weeklys for $0.01 on humble show up for Aquaria + Dungeons of Dredmor.
