62, will be 63 next April. Been playing PC games, mostly RPG's since the early 1980s, don't have any desire to stop. As long as my mind can communicate with my right hand (mouse) and my left hand (keyboard) I will immerse myself in the digital worlds created by talented people.

There are people where I work who say to me: "isn't that for kids?", "Aren't you a little old for that?", "Aren't you ever going to grow up?", ect. I just shake my head and smile at the unenlightened peasants, for they will never understand.

Just say to them, "Fuck you. Adults created the atomic bomb and elevator music."
38. Been playing video games since before I learn to read. And only intend to stop doing so when my life reaches the GAME OVER screen.
53, but I was a late bloomer. I played Asteroids and other arcade games back in the day but got into point and click adventures a number of years ago. When I tell people that I play those games they have some strange reactions. I just tell them it is time well wasted.
Orion66 turned 50 this year in July.
I hope he is alright since I haven't seen him online for a while.

I also do same thing when my parents or some guy tell me "Aren't you a little old for that?".
I just shake my head and smile at the unenlightened peasants and say "Bitch please, I will stop after 3 Billion Seconds." and get back to gaming.
Most of them have no idea that it's 95 years!!! :P
I wish I could meet you all in person and record a video with you for my parents.
They too think games are for kids.
And you're right people never understand.
32 and I've been playing since the Atari. And I did have a Master System, a Super NES and a Playstation, before becoming PC Master Race exclusive. :P

But I'm clearly nowhere near our resident methuselahs.

I'm 45 and I feel young compared to the experiences some people related in the 'my first computer', I even remember someone telling he was playing games on the mainframe of his company or university in the seventies. Back then, I was just a toddler. The first game I owned myself on a system I owned myself - instead of back in the eighties when I played my father's games on the BBC Acorn microcomputer - was Age of Empires I on a Pentium II. I was 30, a late comer to the land of PC's.
Having turned 34 last month I'm glad to see a lot of people over 30 here. One thing I've noticed over the last few years is that I'm not really into long games anymore (took me almost 2 months to finish Pillars of Eternity). 8-12 hours is ideal for me (apart for the ocasional RPG with a good story which may take 20+hours).

I have this problem. With work and all the responsibility now it's hard to get into these RPG that have 2 hours long introduction. I just started playing Grandia yesterday while waiting through the storm, and it took until 50minutes before I see the first monster.
A childish 48 here.

For certain there are at least a handful of forum users in their 70s, gleaned from various threads over the years.

And for those who think gaming is for kids, well, it's a hobby. You can make quilts, birdwatch, play around with woodworking, whatever. They're all hobbies. One of ours just happens to be playing games.
Six inches.

Oh, right, age. I'll be 30 in a few months. Ayyy.
I am old enough to know that playing (in any form) is a key element of culture and has been considered as such for quite some time.
