It doesn't. Our tastes and abilities may change over the years, but I think once you've gotten into gaming, most people will continue gaming in some form or another for the rest of their lives. I certainly don't see myself stopping entirely at any point in my life, except if I end up physically incapable of playing games.

For the record, I'm 39, and I'm definitely not the oldest forum member.

Yes but your still the most handsome. :D
Pretty sure we have some gamers that are in their 60's and 70's on here. I am 44 and can say that in 30 years I will still be playing games for sure :)

Well, this thread made me feel very, very young! Thanks, OP! Seriously, though, i didn't expect *certain* people (very certain people) to be so old, based on their general "this and that around here", but i guess, physical maturity is rarely accompanied with mental and stuff...

For me, "The night is still young" at least, hooray!

I recall reading a few posts on the various "What was your first computer" threads of people getting their first spectrum or c64 when they were in their late 20s to early 30s, so I'd say we do have a few forum users in their 7th decade. And we also had quite a few cases of "I'm thinking about getting this game for my father, will he be able to do X with it?", so even if they ain't GOG/forum users, they are still playing.
48 here and I'm going to keep gaming until I get arthritis in my "mouse finger" so bad that I can't click anymore.

LOL THAT'S my kind of woman. I bet she was a real hell-raiser when she was younger.
Here's some more that are pretty awesome:

Glad to be useful, my dear friend! Temporary solutions though can't guarantee anything permanent. Feeling and being, unfortunately, are two entirely different matters, as well as words...
