I see no way to send PM to other people. There's no PM button and I don't see an inbox anywhere. Is there a setting for this somewhere, or am I missing something?

It is called chat

Easiest way, If you hoover over the avatar of a user a small window will pop up and you will see start conversation.

Click on it and it will bring you to the chat page.

EDIT:

The inbox is here

https://www.gog.com/account/chat

So via account and then chat

Please don't send Stefan Löfven to other people. Thank you.

Yep, sometimes it can be really bothersome, but I use quite a bit the keyboard, so less of a Problem ;)
Okay, thanks.

Can I send messages when users are offline?

I got far more of the problem scanning through for interesting topics and the mouse would just be close enough to activate those windows/tabs.

Honestly the system they had previously was better...

Doesn't bother me on the pc but is really annoying on the phone since i end up clicking on the conversation/add friend when i'm trying to scroll down the page (fortunally the mobile version is bugged because it asks me to log in).
Vote to bring back the original PM system!

I get the feeling for them to push for mobile they should have made a mobile.gog.com sub-site with newer changes and features and left all the working features/site alone. The more they try to add the more bugs and the more they mess with something that was fine.

Plus the old layout some (most?) prefer how it used to be.

Isn´t it most of the time like that?

How many sequels were worst than its predecessor.....

Most famous one MoO3....gosh....

And for the other: page up down, much quicker ;)

Unfortunate that would have meant

2 sites to maintain....not really doable with limited man power

Maybe...

During sales obviously you use the same code so that wouldn't matter, as for the site layouts it's probably a php file with a layout and a foreach with html code... not that difficult to maintain two of them. Or better, having the layout in a intermediate step that you can change and use a decoder/manager to deal with the layouts so you don't have to touch it.

Even if the old site was put to the side and you could still access the old layout, it wouldn't mean more work, 99% of the site's information is in the database, not the php/css/js layout...

Hmmm... I really miss the old layout... i miss the old easy to access gog downloader links too... and the old PM system... geez... i miss the whole site.

I'm not even sure if gog.com is mobile compatible. During the last sale, I've found that it took forever to load the site with the current layout.

Yet the entire layout and huge buttons suggest that's what they were targeting... If i shrink the area of my view screen it changes to a mobile layout even more.

It's actually probably the heavy JS. Banners at certain widths fitting better for phones and mobile make sense, but everything else seems a little off.
