beuker: Looks like GOG is indeed a bit understaffed at the moment.
"at the moment" on a geological scale perhaps :P.
3 month wait for a general question once. Wasnt even difficult. I asked if they delete accounts after a time period of inactivity. Answered with, no they dont.

Wasnt important. But still....2second question took 3 months.

Just assume, if you buy anything, they wont care if anything goes wrong.

I got the impression that they fired most of the support around the same time as they closed the russian forum, although I may be wrong

in 2021 I got answers from support much faster

Did anyone check the support bot's vax status?

vv221: I spent one full year unable to buy anything, because GOG was blocking my debit cards while at the same time pretending that my bank was the one blocking the payment. That was a straight lie, as the request was never sent to my bank in the first place.
EXACT same experience here. Kept getting denied, and I would call my credit card company in a rage knowing I hadn't gone over any limits or any other issues. Upon which the bank/credit card company would insist no request for payment was ever received. After several go rounds of this, I finally got an email saying something about it was THEIR (Gog's) internal "security" features. This was years ago and to this day I still can't use certain cards, mainstream cards as I only have Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. (Well, I say to this day, fact is I haven't made a purchase in over a year (Jul 2024) due to their awful, AWFUL download speeds. For years their speeds were okay, always less than Steam but acceptable but then a few years ago and most of the time the best I can get is 5MB/s.)

Sadly, your entire post seems dead on accurate. I just don't understand what has happened to this place. I used to recommend it to anybody and everybody I ever had conversations with about computer gaming, including my own extended family members, which now I receive many "Were you high when you told me those things?". Skyrim Anniversary Edition is another example. I purchased it here wanting a DRM free copy. But the gog version has a serious memory leak that causes the game to crash if you play more than an hour or two. Note the date, over a year ago, and issue still persists.

I don't recommend this site to anyone any more. Even enemies. I want to, I want Gog to succeed, but it seems they themselves don't want to.

Oh, I know same problem.

Unfortunately some time ago dragon age got into the 'gog preservation program'. Game has received a completely unnecessary change corrupting performance and on the game forum already many topics about this problem. The problem persists for more than nine months, and in addition to this goal updated offline installers so uncorrupted version of the game just not exist. Now I have been waiting for a month for my request to return normal offline installers.

I still believe in gog, I have never complained about the closure of our forum or suspension of sales in my country, I understand the reason.

But I’m upset that the gog has stopped sticking to its principles, they break games and add drm in their games (eg the witcher 3 and cyberpunk in which some content requires connection through galaxy client)

The memory leak issue is not the fault of GOG. While it might be taking a long time to fix, the responsibility likely lies with Bethesda. The experience with Dragon Age: Origins varies for users; some, like me, are not experiencing any problems.

Similarly, regarding download speeds, I'm getting great speeds but I am using GOG Galaxy for downloading. However, most users with issues seem to be using the browser, which appears to be throttled to 5 MB which seems to be for cutting cost. I also get 5 MB on the browser as well.

Also some get lower than 5MB on the browser.

Some don’t have problems and some have no problems before 'improving' the game. But there are many complaints now, as well as questions why the game created for four core processors was limited to two cores? Why?

I heard from many users say it works fine as well. I also acknowledge that it has issues for some users. Why did they do it? I don't know how GOG thinks.

For all we know, more people may not have the issue than those who do. Usually, those who complain are the most vocal. it's not bad to raise concerns when the game has an issue, I believe GOG should provide all users with the option to download older versions. Although you can technically do this with Galaxy, it doesn't offer an offline installer tho.

Edit: Good way to play Skyrim without the memory leak is to roll back the game. but then you're locked out of mods I think

Well the issue did come after the update which is true. But there are people that had other issues before the Update as well. Not all of course. It's PC gaming, what can you say.

GOG should provide an option to download the older offline installer.

Syphon72: GOG should provide an option to download the old offline installer since you have the issue.
Yes, in this opinion we agree.

And that’s why I’m trying to get an answer from gog,

Just my opinion but I think GOG forms are dying and communication seems to be moving to Discord nowadays. Where people seem to get better answers for things.

Look ZP they don't even have forums for anything. Only Discord.
