Insomnia returns to GOG.com.

BREAKING TOO: You bought all the classics. Nice! Fresh new games are taking over both streams until all units are gone. We're getting there, so be quick!

BREAKING: Doomsday projections of an impending worldwide caffeine shortage reported, as the hyper-popular Insomnia promo returns to GOG.com. Last spotted in May of 2014, the "greatest promo ever" has since transformed into a phenomenon most accurately described as "Double Insomnia". GOG.com's best men have been unable to fully comprehend the nature of this beastly transformation so far. Preliminary research indicates, however, that its effects are relatively benign.

Welcome back, sleepless friends. Against everyone's better judgement, the hyperactive promo returns to GOG.com with twice the everything. The Double Insomnia Promo will feature more games than ever, and two simultaneous pools: Seasoned classics and Fresh new titles. If you know how this works you're probably trembling with anticipation already (or is it fear?), but if you're just joining us... well, you'll still probably make it out okay.

What's all the hullabaloo about? All sales are offered in limited quantities, and the number of copies remaining is labeled with a huge counter on the front page. There are two pools, and only one game from either pool can be on sale at one time. Once a game sells out, another will immediately take its place so that two are always available. If you missed your chance, fear not but keep your eyes open! Your favorite one will probably be back. Insomnia mercilessly goes on, day and night, until every single unit is gone - like a carousel of deals. You might even have a chance to get a free game, if you're lucky that is.

Bought Shadowrun and Sudeki so far. Hope to make my wishlist that much shorter by the end of this.

MaGo72: Was the same for me, I did need 10+ tries to get the front page to load normally. Plain text with links taking ages to load.
Indeed. Luckily I'm not exactly bargain hunting but there's always the possibility of the one game I'd like to have showing up right when nothing's working.

Nah you don't seem mad either. There's always something else to do.
Though it's still nice when things work, isn't it!
I'm still broke. Just panning for freebies right now but no luck so far :)

Indeed, and what's extra funny is that literally 20-30 seconds after I said the above, I checked the homepage, added a game to my cart and for the first time ever in the history of GOG promo random freebies - I won my first free game. LOL

I can't help but run conspiracy theories through my head that they saw my gripe post above and "salted" the freebie algorithm in my favour or something... LOL Naw, I doubt that, but it's still funny to consider. ;oP Either way, I can't complain about a free game that's for sure. ;oP
Any hidden shade of gray that tells me if I already own a game on sale which I haven't discovered so far?

eiii: When did this start?

I just got the Email ... love it when GOG always sends the Emails before something starts.
i NEVER got any email before anything started. the email about this promo came about 10 minutes ago. this promo running since hours?

At first, i tought the seasoned vs fresh format would give interesting statistics regarding game preferences, but checking the tracker, the availible stocks for sale arent always the same, and neither are the prices, so those statistics will need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Quick question - will repeat games be discounted at smaller prices later on ? Can't remember if this happened at the last Insomnia .

Ah, this sale is just an attempt to distract us from moping about the German language thing. :p
Nice though. I kinda like the random freebie thing.
It doesn't show if you own a game even at the game card. You have to check it out before you get the info that you own it. Very practical for a fast paced sale!
Here we go again! Are you ready? Keane will claim all your hours of sleep

GOG has never changed the discounts on repeats in any of the previous Insomnia promos.

It's probably a good thing overall. Think of all the angry pandas made of people who paid more when they could have gotten it for less later in the sale. There's enough angry pandas around here already with all of the changes that have happened on GOG in the past year...
