It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Ciris: It seems to always be the top sub forums, doesn't it? Or did they also go into the smaller game forums, inside threads etc.?
For the past week it's been those forums almost exclusively, with the very rare exception, as stated above.

Maxvorstadt: No, the spam bots create always own topics, they don`t "post" in existing ones.
Actually, there was one post that I saw inside the "what did just updated" thread, but it was reported and disappeared fairly quickly compared to the stuff in the subforums. The location was Korea, the user was new, and the post was blank, so I think it's safe to assume it was the same person who sent their spambot army against us.

EDIT: Finally found the post that links to the (now removed) spam comment: link

Other than the occasional attack on the french General forum, that seems to be it.

Edit: For inside threads spam, look at the Wishlist comments.

Aturuxo: look at the Wishlist comments.
That reminds me, making me wonder if reporting on the wishlist will do anything rather than just hide them...

Glanced at some of the more recently modified wishlist items only for nothing to have recently happened, meaning probably posts have already been marked off and removed...
jelubebabu is the current spammer alias.

EDIT: Also opganda034 in the french general forum.

Wishbone: It's an unfortunate shortcoming of the English language that it doesn't distinguish between second person singular and plural.

Sachys: Yer / You / Youse

= English! ;)
Or 'y'all' if in Texas. Though I mainly hear 'you lot'.

Well, you`ve won the golden lemon for the most useless information in this thread!! :-)

Thanks. I though reporting the names of the spammer accounts here might be useful...
So, does this mean we should stop reporting through the system, so you guys can see these when they happen and how?

toxicTom: And people stop it before I blush :-). There wasn't much to it really.
I think you (single-handedly?) provided the tool that kept those fighting the spam, fighting the spam. I know I'd have quit within a day without them.
*chant* Make him blush! Make him blush!

Petrell: I heard nuking them from orbit is effective spam deterrant. Who needs korea(s) anyway? ;-p
As I understand things, N. Korea is already working on that.

"Ya'll" is the second person plural. For some reason, people not in southern USA don't seem to like it.

Aturuxo: -A CAPTCHA upon registration would prevent the bots from creating accounts, wouldn't affect the forums and it would be but a minor nuisance for new users (it'd take 10 secs to register instead of the current 5).
Depends on the CAPTCHA. I've seen some truly terrible ones over the years.

Yeah the HB one as of recent is really bad. I end up refreshing it like 30 times before i see something decent enough to type in.
I like ReCaptcha (from Google). It's fairy safe, fairly readable, comes with an audio version and helps doing good in helping the digitizing of old books and recognizing house numbers (from StreetView I guess) ans thus making the maps more precise.

Yeah, I`ve once seen a captcha which was made so bad that I couldn`t register on that website, because it didn`t accept what I typed in although I`m sure that I typed it correctly!
are we still marking the individual threads or do we take a break and hope Blues get info they need to get rid of the whole mess?

Willing to continue the way we did yesterday but unsure if it would be counter-productive to GOG team.

LEMME know, ok?

I'm still flagging once in a while (when I have time because my working application is busy). One round through the usual suspects marking all I find, then back to work.
