Ciris: UPDATE: The web team has put more men on the job of creating a solution to this problem. It will be done ASAP - they need to make sure it doesn't delete regular posts as well
..and that's how that wednesday the entire GOG's forum disappeared in a second, son. XD

Can't you disable\hide the threads first, instead of deleting them immediately?
Also, maybe add another safe condition to avoid theads containing at least N first posts by users with good rep, or something similar.

Ciris: I'd noticed SOME spam before, but I must've not encountered the forums that were as flooded by it - I'm in contact with support and the web team to figure something out, though. Hopefully, there'll be something we can do soon!
It started on January 27th, according to this post. The next 678 posts detail the battle we've been through since then. I do recommend that you go through it all when you can find the time. It should be educational. Not least to showcase how many people have warned you of the problem, including how bad it actually was, and how thoroughly you've ignored them until now.

Still, it's good that you've finally woken up, but damn, try listening to your users once in a while, eh? And keep a better eye on your own forum in the future.
