vsr: So it's ok if you mind your business in EU. Russia will mind it's own business. Same with Syria and other sovereign countries.

jamyskis: That's rich coming from a guy from a country with a proven history of interference in international elections, most notably providing financing to the French Front National (proven), to the British UKIP (likely) and to the German AfD (suspected).
Then make laws in your country that make it illegal for political organizations to receive funding from foreign states, simple as that. You can't blame Russia for taking advantage of your weakness, they would be stupid not to. If anything it just shows how Western countries are soft.

KOCollins: Trump looks like he will win, maybe... Americans are so fed up with all politicians and all their lies that they would vote for a non politician and buy his lies. I get it, I really do...I still don't think this is going to be some great change for our country and I highly doubt it is for the better. I actually think it will be more of the same then most people do. Rich will get richer, politicians will continue to do less. Our economy, well just like I thought about W...Here we go down again. yay.

Trilarion: Just saw this and I completely agree. I think this is the best description of what actually happened.

People are smart enough to see that something is wrong but not smart enough to vote for something better. He told them all they wanted to hear and they actually believe him when he says he will make America great again. It won't happen and they will wake up to the same shit some day but then the first four years will be almost over. They will be worse off than without him but since we do not have two earths were we can run experiments for comparison... hard to prove that actually. He will just lie a bit more and blame someone else (Mexicans, ...). It won't be his fault.

People fell for a populist and now they will have to live with that. Maybe the weakness of Hillary played a certainly role but I think mostly they just fell for Trump.
Why are germans so condescending?

Russia isn't the only country taking advantage of this.

Dictators are mostly never good, I would say, and Russia wasn't really wild west. What they did wrong was going from full communism to full capitalism too quickly. They shouldn't have done that but instead do the transformation much more gradually.

I don't think Russia is instable and needs a strong dictator. My guess is that with an independent justice and freedom of press and without corruption and a strong democracy they would be much better off.

Just look at all their resources? Probably the same like in Norway. They are rich beyond dreams. But the people instead have a very low income and bad public services. They don't manage the natural riches of their country like for example Norway does and there is a serious risk it will all be gone at some point. I see Putin rather as key player of the system.

Fair point, and it's something that I'd certainly advocate.

I do believe that many EU member states already have bans on foreign funding of political parties - including the UK and Germany - which is precisely why it's done "under the radar". That being said, the German ban at the very least only prohibits funding from foreign governmental institutions, so there's a gaping great loophole that means countries can use banks to finance German political parties that are under the influence of but not owned by the state.

Theory? Only King Jung has none to argue against him, I'm thinking, so believe what you want...

Elmofongo: Or what is happening now in the Middle East when Saddam Hussien died.
This. For better or worse - he had a system of order. No matter what we have to say about him, Russia, America (Bush family f. ex.), and China had their own groups that managed to destabilize the whole region for years after WW2, supplying them with weapons and what not. ( Iran, Irak, Afghanistan...)

After 2003 the whole region got destabilized again.

Bush junior actually removed a man his father had reinstated to power. They couldn't control Saddam any longer so they went for him first, and then to Afghanistan. The opium and weapon sale went through the roof after the 2003!

TRUMP wins! Take that, you leftist, anarchist scum! Globalization will be halted, if not stopped dead in its tracks and most importantly, your self-destructive delusions and hallucinations that are going to doom us all, such as no borders, imported terrorists and local population control, are going to be put down! Too bad for your warmongering tendencies, too, Trump is good friends with Putin! Goodbye NATO aggressions (and transgressions), now your orders will be like less intrusive (against Russian and Chinese) and more, like, peaceful! Good luck digesting all this data! Hail to the women-loving, hard-partying, good-taste man! Ah, and one more thing; since he is already filthy rich and has a supermodel for a wife, he is going to be much less "controllable" through political "unorthodox-war" (constructed scandals) or even worse, blackmail! Good luck to the corrupted puppet-masters from behind the scenes!

Wee, my hope returned! Maybe, after all, i won't have to see fires rage and blood run. All i needed was a Russian-friendly, enemy of Globalization! Let's see what the future holds, now!!!

P.S. Now, america is actually saved. Actually, the enemies of nations and the enemies of America itself, are those who are fucked! Good news for a change!

Too bad our government are made up of people who only have a degree in politic and economy to really understand that we really have. Besides, all this privatizing and mass selling of land is hurting us, like Greece did.

GothikOrk: To all you mentally challenged, racist assholes that voted for Trump, he's not going to change anything. He's not going to make us look like a black and white Leave it to Beaver sitcom from the 50's. You not only willingly voted for an Id-driven man-child, you took a giant piss on our right to vote at all. We fought for the right to vote, trusting ourselves to make the responsible, best candidate for the job. This election wasn't just an indictment of the voting public, but of our very system. We are too stupid, too petty, too selfish to be allowed to vote people into office. I wish we lived in a dictatorship, then at least it would be a strongman screwing ourselves, instead of the imbecilic populous shooting itself in the foot over and over again. If you voted for Trump because you thought it would be funny, or think for one second he gives a damn about you, screw you.
You are a shining example of tolerance, love, respect, and understanding.
